Rentsoft offers ISPs subscription software based on the Revenue Sharing scheme. The key advantage of the RentSoft platform is the ease of connection due to the use of a ready-made partner module integrated with the most popular billing among Internet providers - NetUp, LANbilling, BGBilling, Ideco, Hydra, Pyzzle.ISP, SmartACR.

Subscription payment involves periodic payments to users for the consumption of products distributed through the RentSoft platform, and can be implemented in two versions:

  • Monthly fee for the use of one product. The user pays for the possibility of using one product for a period of one month. This model is well suited for distributing products such as, for example, software installed on a user's computer, access to On-line MMORPG games, etc.
  • Monthly fee for access to a wide range of products of the same type. The user pays for one month of access, during which he can consume products of a certain type. This model is well suited for the distribution of products such as casual games, music content, video content, etc.

RentSoft Platform

The RentSoft platform performs all the necessary functions for the distribution of products: it keeps records of product tariffs, bills users, accepts payments, provides online store windows for selecting and managing product subscriptions.

Rentsoft distributes products located on the RentSoft platform, both directly to end users and through a network of partners, concluding sublicense or agency agreements with them.

License Agreements

As of August 2010, Rentsoft entered into license agreements and carried out integrations with most manufacturers of antivirus software: Eset, Dr.Web, Panda Security, Agnitum.

Since April 2011, a subscription to Trend Micro antivirus solutions has now been available on the windows and in the personal accounts of fifty Internet providers - Rentsoft partners. Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security 2011 and Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2011 are designed for secure use of the Internet. Antiviruses from Trend Micro belong to the premium class of antivirus software that protects both user computers and corporate networks. Trend Micro's high level of antivirus reliability is achieved using Smart Protection Network cloud computing technology, which allows you to automatically block viruses and spyware even before they enter your computer. The use of cloud resources allows Titanium 2011 products to significantly reduce the load on the processor, RAM and storage system and increase computer performance. The subscription cost for antiviruses is 120 rubles per month for Titanium Internet Security 2011 antivirus and 178 rubles per month for Titanium Maximum Security 2011 antivirus, which makes these antiviruses available to a wide range of users.

2017: Merlion buys Rentsoft

In July 2017, Merlion announced the start of the integration process into its team structure of two companies - Rentsoft (distributor of cloud services) and Velvica (technology platform for the distribution of cloud services). The deal was carried out as part of the active development of the VAD direction, which occupies a third in the Merlion business. During the integration of businesses into the MERLION structure, Rentsoft and Velvica employees will join the VAD division. The finance party, as well as other confidential aspects of the transaction, were not disclosed.

Rentsoft supports open SaaS APS packaged solutions.   • The developer adds his web application to the Rentsoft platform by filling out a simple form directly in his personal account on the site http://rentsoft.ru.
  • After testing the Solution SaaS conducted by Rentsoft, 4 million subscribers of 123 Internet providers who connected the Rentsoft platform receive the opportunity to subscribe to a new product. Payment is made monthly from a single subscriber account, in addition to paying for the Internet.

2011

On August 24, 2011, Rentsoft launched a service for developers of online ("cloud") SaaS projects. When connected to the platform, the "cloud" project gains access to the accounts of personal accounts of more than 3 million subscribers from the Rentsoft partner network (60 large Russian Internet providers). Debits for the SaaS service are included in the same monthly payment that the user already pays for the Internet from his provider. This is very effective, since the subscriber's account often contains unspent balances of funds that he can send to pay for the new service.

The new Rentsoft service allows the owner of a cloud Solution SaaS (for example, web CRM) to independently connect his service to the platform using a simple software API and step-by-step instructions. Integration makes it possible to use the payment system of the platform, in particular, to provide your solution to a wide audience of users of the Rentsoft partner network.

After subscribing, the client gets round-the-clock access to the "cloud" versions of "1C" and MS Office from any computer connected to the Internet. There is no need for initial investments: the company pays only a monthly subscription fee, which already includes a license for 1C and Microsoft Office, regular updates, rental of high-performance equipment, data backup, the work of a system administrator, Rentsoft noted. Special attention is paid to safety: customer information is physically stored in an industrial data center with an increased level of protection. All information when working via the Internet is transmitted in encrypted form via a secure channel: a similar encryption scheme with a public and private key, according to the company, is used by banks in bank-client systems.

It is noteworthy that visually for the user, working with the "cloud" version of "1C" is almost no different from working with the local "1C: Accounting." Although the program itself is running in the "cloud" on a remote server, the user sees its window on his computer and can work with it, as with any other Windows window emphasized in Rentsoft.
