2021: Raising $635 thousand, estimated at $5 million
November 10, 2021 it became known about the investment of $635 thousand in Skipp. According to the results of the financing round, the startup was estimated at $5 million.
Skipp received funds from Skyeng co-founder Denis Smetnev, former Delivery Club CEO Andrei Tsitsenko, TilTech Capital Fund, Skyeng managing partner Alexander Laryanovsky and a number of other investors. The startup will spend the funds raised on global expansion and attracting developers from the CIS countries.
Former Lingualeo technical director Alexei Odin, who founded Skipp, says that by November 2021 the platform has more than 5 thousand Russian-speaking applicants. He said that the company's monthly revenue exceeds 14 million rubles, and from April to October 2021 it increased 26 times. The founder of the project explains the growth by the fact that the supply from the business significantly exceeds the demand, and IT specialists with rare skills sometimes need to be searched for months. According to Alexander Laryanovsky, Skipp helps IT specialists find new interesting projects that could help them develop and grow in their careers, since many of them are not ready to work in the same company for decades.
Skipp has many competitors, among them the global platform Toptal and numerous startups like Turing, Deel and Geecko, Denis Efremov, principal of the Fort Ross Ventures venture fund, lists in an interview with Forbes.
