2022: Revenue growth by 16% to RUB 2.2 billion

In 2022, InfoWatch raised 2.2 billion rubles, which is 16% more than a year earlier. Natalya Kasperskaya, President of InfoWatch Group of Companies, spoke about this in mid-March 2023. In the ranking "TAdviser100: The largest IT companies in Russia 2023," such an indicator allowed the company to take 154 lines (54 lines of the list of applicants for inclusion in the number of the largest IT companies in Russia).

At the same time, she did not disclose the profit for 2022. According to Vedomosti, citing data from the SPARK-Interfax system, in 2021, InfoWatch's net profit was measured at 116 million rubles, revenue - 1.9 billion rubles.

The company did not disclose its profit for 2022

According to Kasperskaya, the revenue forecast was "a little more," but in 2022 there were no "special failures and changes, unlike the covid [COVID-19] year."

Many companies claim that they have wild growth due to import substitution, and in our segment, fortunately or unfortunately, everyone was replaced 5 years ago, and we have almost no foreign players left in the DLP (Data Leak Prevention - specialized software for protecting against data leaks) market, "she explained to the newspaper.
File:Aquote2.png

According to Kaspersky, InfoWatch focuses on the development of two new areas - APCS protection systems (automated process control system) and firewalls (firewalls) for the corporate sector.

File:Aquote1.png
Until recently, this market segment developed poorly, because I&C manufacturers announced the presence of built-in security tools, "she said in mid-March 2023. - However, most APCS were from unfriendly countries, and in the past [2022] it became clear to everyone that the built-in protection was not enough.
File:Aquote2.png

The market request for firewalls is also associated with the sharp departure of foreign manufacturers of protective screens, such as Cisco, Fortinet, etc., Kasperskaya added.

Firewalls are one of the fastest growing and most popular destinations, which is estimated at about 30 billion rubles a year in vendor prices, Pavel Korostelev, head of the Security Code product promotion department, told the publication.[1]

InfoWatch Academy received an educational license

On April 27, 2023, the InfoWatch Academy, which is part of the InfoWatch Group of Companies, received an educational license, information about which is posted in the corresponding register of the Moscow Department of Science and Education. The immediate plans of the educational direction of the InfoWatch Group of Companies include expanding the list of educational programs with the ability to obtain certificates of advanced training, with information entered into state databases.

File:Aquote1.png

Total digitalization requires rapid adaptation of IT and information security specialists to the constantly changing working conditions and protection of enterprises. And a shortage of skilled staff with professional experience and knowledge makes the gap - between what needs to be done right now and what needs to be trained to keep up with change - increasingly critical. Advanced training of specialized specialists is a necessary tool not only for maintaining skills and updating knowledge, developing practical experience through solving modern problems, but also for additional professional education in the field of information security. The InfoWatch Academy has gained extensive experience during its activities, including in teaching students of secondary and higher educational institutions not only in Russia, but also abroad.

File:Aquote1.png
As a developer of information security products, with the help of our own valuable expertise, we create a developed infrastructure in the form of educational laboratories, develop educational and methodological complexes, test and implement them on the market among information security specialists, organizations of higher and secondary education. Licensing educational activities gives us the right to provide students with timely knowledge of new types of threats to information security and methods of protection, and they, in addition to current skills, when receiving documents on specialized education, receive supporting documents on advanced training, "concluded Natalya Kasperskaya, President of InfoWatch Group of Companies.

TAdviser interview with President Natalya Kasperskaya

Creation of "ITMO-Infovotch" training center

InfoWatch Group of Companies (GC), a Russian developer of complex solutions for ensuring information security of organizations, and the St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University) in January 2018 announced the opening of a joint educational center based on the university.

The creation of the training center was the result of strategic cooperation between InfoWatch Group of Companies and ITMO University in the field of specialized training of highly qualified information security specialists for Russian enterprises.

The ITMO-InfoWatch training center is a technical and technological base for training and research activities in the field of information security. The main idea of the center is to give students the opportunity to work with real incidents encountered at enterprises. This is done on the basis of a training computer center, which is equipped with the entire complex of InfoWatch software products and is designed to work in various IT environments, including industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) systems.

InfoWatch is the curator of ITMO's master's program in the Cyberphysical Systems Security training profile. 2017

Expansion of presence in Russia and the world

InfoWatch Group summed up the results of 2017, listing a number of key events in the life of the company.

Representations

Due to the growing demand from regional customers, in 2017, InfoWatch-Volga representative offices were opened in the Innopolis Special Economic Zone and InfoWatch Urals in Tyumen, as well as framework agreements were signed on the development of cooperation with the Khabarovsk Territory, Tyumen and Ulyanovsk regions.

International expansion

In 2017, the company's activities focused on providing a full cycle of support to customers and partners in key regions of operation, including the Middle East (Middle East) and Southeast Asia (Southeast Asia).

The company became the first DLP vendor from Russia to open a representative office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A second full-cycle representation was established in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Personnel

InfoWatch's workforce increased by more than 20% in 2017. Every third new employee is a graduate of the Professional Start with InfoWatch internship program, in which students and graduates of universities participate in the company's projects.

Cooperation with the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory in the field of information security

In mid-October 2017, the President of the InfoWatch Group of Companies (GC) Natalya Kasperskaya and the Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Vyacheslav Shport signed a cooperation agreement between the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory and InfoWatch GC during a working meeting.

The agreement provides for the creation of favorable conditions for the development of the information security system within the framework of the implementation of the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation program in the Khabarovsk Territory; development of integrated information protection of regional information systems and telecommunications; increase of comfortable and safe use of information resources by residents of the region due to application of modern innovative technologies.

Also, an agreement was signed on cooperation in the field of training specialized personnel between InfoWatch Group of Companies and Pacific State University (TOGU). The document was signed by the rector of TOGU Sergey Ivanchenko and the head of InfoWatch Group of Companies Natalya Kasperskaya. The agreement is aimed at promoting information security as an area of activity, training highly qualified personnel, organizing and conducting student practices.

According to Natalia Kasperskaya, InfoWatch develops training courses for specialists in all areas of the company's work in the field of information security of enterprises and provides such an educational base for higher educational institutions.

Did someone steal a customer base from InfoWatch?

Some Russian information security companies received on June 13 letters with a database of customers of a competitor - InfoWatch company Natalia Kasperskaya. Who is behind the leak is unknown, but the letter authors hint that they are former InfoWatch employees. The company refutes the leak[2].

The leak of data from InfoWatch was reported on April 13 by SecureNews. The note said that the letters sent to the company's competitors contained "an archive with a customer base of the company, numbering more than five thousand positions, including personal data."

The letter was written on behalf of offended employees of the company. At least some of the addressees received the following text: "InfoWatch does not pay money to its employees, so the employees pay her according to their merits. From the link, you can see your competitor's customer base. And pay your managers, otherwise the same thing can happen to you.'

InfoWatch Ledger Clarification

The InfoWatch group of companies (GC) recorded an information attack, which was carried out centrally from an anonymous source by posting data defaming InfoWatch's business reputation on the Internet, sending personal letters to employees of organizations, media representatives and bloggers. During the information attack, the current data of partners and customers of InfoWatch Group of Companies were not affected.

Such an attack is a typical example of unfair competition. The mechanics are simple: the topic and format of the message are selected for the target audience, data is "stuffed" under the guise of a source of information, which may be an unknown account, as was done in this case. After that, the information is picked up by the media, reprinted on social networks and thus the topic is developed.

InfoWatch confirms that the data posted during the information attack is untrue, and the "leak" itself is the result of a compilation of non-company data.

RDIF Investments

On March 30, 2017, InfoWatch announced that it was raising funds from the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). According to the newspaper Vedomosti, we are talking about almost 190 million rubles.

According to InfoWatch, RDIF buys a minority stake in a group of companies that includes brands such as InfoWatch, Cezurity, Taiga and Attack Killer.

Natalia Kasperskaya

InfoWatch intends to invest in increasing its export potential and localizing information security products of organizations in foreign markets, as well as opening offices in key markets, including the Middle East and Southeast Asia. By the end of March 2017, InfoWatch solutions have already been introduced in the markets of Western Europe, the Middle East, India and Southeast Asia.

The InfoWatch message does not disclose the volume of RDIF investments. Vedomosti, citing sources close to different participants in the transaction, writes that RDIF bought 3.75% of InfoWatch at a price of 50 million rubles for 1%, as a result of which the group could attract up to 187.5 million rubles. The holding's 100 percent share could cost up to 5 billion rubles, the newspaper notes.[3]

File:Aquote1.png
We consider RDIF investments primarily as an opportunity to use financial and non-financial support measures provided for by the Investment Elevator mechanism for development in the global market, says InfoWatch President Natalya Kasperskaya. - Over the past ten years, InfoWatch has grown from a startup into a global company worth more than $100 million. To maintain this growth rate, we need to expand our presence in the global DLP systems market, which is waiting for a certain diversification, because today only a few countries are represented in the leading group of global players, and such a monopoly always carries risks for consumers.

In 2014, InfoWatch actively expanded the direction of technological partnership and joint testing with Palo Alto Networks (Russia), Huawei, Diasoft Platforma and STC IT ROSA.

Natalia Kasperskaya, CEO of the InfoWatch group of companies, noted:

"The financial
year that ended was not easy for the domestic IT industry and for the country's economy as a whole. The deterioration of the economic situation at the end of 2014 led to delays in payments, staff and wages in the market, the curtailment of some companies, and a decrease in market growth rates. Nevertheless, the InfoWatch group of companies in this difficult situation managed not only not to reduce, but, on the contrary, to increase growth rates. First of all, thanks to the support of our long-standing customers, as well as thanks to the new companies with which we began cooperation last year. And also due to the demand for information security during the crisis, which in our opinion will contribute to the successful development of the InfoWatch group of companies in the coming year. "

The sales volume of InfoWatch Group increased by 36% and reached 498 million rubles. 2012

Sales growth for the year almost doubled

The sales volume of InfoWatch Group almost doubled and reached 365 million rubles. At the same time, 302 million rubles, i.e. 82% of the total revenue of the company, falls directly on InfoWatch, which exceeds the same indicator last year by 68.2%.

At the end of 2011, another important step was taken in the development of InfoWatch holding - the takeover of the German company EgoSecure, formerly known as cynapspro, was completed. The share of customers working in industry amounted to 8%, in the telecommunications sector - 6%, in trade and power - 3% and 2%, respectively, which indicates the balance of the client base of the group of companies and the demand for its solutions in all sectors of the economy.

Sales in the regions of Russia and the CIS countries increased significantly, as a result of which a large-scale expansion into these markets is planned in 2013. InfoWatch representatives have already begun active promotion in seven federal districts of Russia - the Far Eastern, Siberian, Ural, Volga (Volga), South, North Caucasus and North-West Federal District. With regard to the CIS countries, InfoWatch's focus will be on Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. 2011

Sales growth of 50%

The revenue of InfoWatch Group for 2011 in all areas of business amounted to 184.4 million rubles, while 179.5 million rubles, or 97% of the total turnover in the group, falls on InfoWatch, which is 49.5% higher than the same indicator in 2010.

The group's final statements for 2011 do not include the income of the German subsidiary - EgoSecure, since the takeover of this company was completed only in December 2011. In addition, the Natalia Kasperskaya Innovation Center is not a selling company. Thus, the group's revenues are formed from the revenues of InfoWatch and Kribrum, which amounted to 179.5 million rubles. and 4.9 million rubles. respectively.

In 2011, InfoWatch's revenue from sales of solutions was distributed by industry as follows:

  • 29% of all revenues came from the oil and gas industry (13% in 2010);
  • 25% - for finance/insurance (62% in 2010);
  • 17% - for state institutions (7% in 2010);
  • 16% - for communication (5% in 2010);
  • 6% - for industry (6% in 2010);
  • 3% - for transport (2% in 2010);
  • 1% each - for construction and power (against 5% for power in 2010).

According to InfoWatch's own estimates, the DLP market in Russia and the CIS grew by 10-13% and amounted to 850-900 million rubles. in customer prices or about 300 million rubles. in software license prices. InfoWatch retains a 45-550% share of the entire market and up to 66% in the high enterprise segment. According to IDC analysts, the global DLP market will reach $808 million by 2015.

The largest projects in 2011 in the company are called implementations in Russian Railways, MTS, Tattelecom, VNIIGAZ, Rosimushchestvo, FundServiceBank, the Federal Insurance Service, in the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan and at the helicopter plant named after Mil.

A total of 85 projects were completed in 2011, with 35 pilot and 50 commercial implementations.

According to Konstantin Levin, Director of InfoWatch Group of Companies for Sales in Russia and the CIS countries, at this time DLP solutions are primarily interested in large companies (the so-called enterprise and high enterprise level). But companies in the SMB segment cannot find DLP solutions for themselves. "By and large, they want a boxed product for a modest price," says Levin. And at the moment no one can offer them this. Natalia Kasperskaya, CEO of InfoWatch Group of Companies, adheres to the same point of view. In her opinion, if companies operating in the DLP market manage to offer such a solution, then the market will rush up sharply, because the need for DLP for SMB is already ripe, but overpaying for large implementations for small companies is pointless.

This is confirmed by the direct experience of InfoWatch: requests with questions about the possibility There are many implementations in the company, but there were only about 30 implementations in SMB companies for all the years of work.

Konstantin Levin told TAdviser that InfoWatch Group is actively working on the issue of SMB. According to him, the group of companies is ready to either buy a developer of such a DLP solution, or - this option is also possible - to recruit a special department that will be engaged in the creation of such a product. But there are no specific plans yet.

post-DLP Development Plan for Court Submission

In 2012, the group of companies plans to develop the so-called post DLP - - together with the relevant authorities to establish such a mechanism for implementing decisions so that the data obtained with their help can be evidence when submitted to the court. At the moment, due to the almost complete lack of legal practice in relation to cases related to intellectual property, it is virtually impossible to provide evidence based on the results of analysis of data collected by the DLP system, i.e. they are not considered by the court as significant.
