2020: Start of commercial operation of the first Russian Moskva electrotrucks

At the end of September, 2020 the Drive Electro company announced creation of the first Russian electric truck. The model under the name Moskva began to be used by retail network "Magnit".

The vehicle 8,960 mm long, 2,550 mm wide and 3,760 mm high is constructed on the chassis of "KamAZ" and is equipped with the 312 hp electric motor. The torsional moment reaches 1,400 Nanometers.

Capacity of the rechargeable battery is 140 kWh. On one battery power the heavy truck is capable to pass to 200 km with maximum speed 110 km/h. It is going to recharge batteries at night on the parking and also during unloading. The industrial network of 380 volts can become the power source.

The car is equipped with the isothermal van and the refrigeration unit for preserving of the maximum freshness of products and also a hydroboard with a loading capacity of 1.5 thousands kg.

"Magnet" will operate a pilot sample in the test mode of 6-12 months and to bring products from own distribution center in Dmitrov to shops of network in Moscow. In case of a successful completion of test operation the company will make the decision on large delivery of electrotrucks of this complete set. At the first stage potentially it can be up to 200 cars.

The CEO of Drive Electro Sergei Ivanov reported that the company decided to develop not only production of electrotrucks, but also charging stations and service maintenance. Such complex approaches will cost cheaper in terms of 10 years of operation, than a similar complex for the diesel car, he noted.

By estimates of developers, due to use of an alternative energy type and low wearability of the main nodes of the car the cost of ownership of electrotruck in 10 years will be lower, than traditional for 20-25%.[1]
