2024: Village digitalization program halved due to lack of money

In September 2024, it became known that the program for the digitalization of settlements in the Saratov region, originally designed for connecting 38 villages to the Internet, was more than halved. The reason for this reduction was a decrease in the budget of the federal Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media.

As part of the program for 2024, it was planned to connect 38 villages to the Internet, but due to funding restrictions, this list was reduced to 17 settlements. According to the approved list, the program for this year includes the following settlements: Osinovka village (Romanovsky district), Poltavka village (Samoilovsky district), Shepelevka village (Turkovsky district), the village of Shnyaevo (Bazarno-Karabulaksky district), the village of Kalmantai (Volsky district), the village of Lipovka (Dukhovnitsky district), the village of Kamelik (Pugachevsky district), the village of Antonovka (Ershovsky district), the village of Osinov Gai (Ershovsky district), the village of Grachevka (Arkadak district), the village of Chiganak (Arkadak district), the village of Saltykovo (Kalininsky district), the village of Malaya Tavolozhka (Pugachevsky district), the village of Bobrovka (Pugachevsky district), the village of Korneevka (Krasnopartizansky district), the village of Tolstovka (Krasnopartizansky district) and the village of Vostochny (Ivanteevsky district).

According to the Ministry of Digital Development of the Saratov Region, the decision to include these settlements in the abbreviated list was made at the federal level. Local authorities did not participate in this process, and the selection criteria were not brought to regional officials.[1]

2023: Digital Development Center launched in Saratov region

On April 4, 023, the press service of the State Duma deputy RFAnton Nemkin announced that the Digital Development Center had been launched in the Saratov region. The state government institution, created under the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications of the Saratov Region, will become a single technical operator of information systems and will be responsible for the digitalization of all key areas of management, industry and services in the region.
