2022: Creating an Alliance
At the end of September 2022, it became known Russia that the Association of Independent Software and Computer Developers based on microarchitecture (RISC-V RISC-V Alliance) was created. According to Interfax, citing a press release from the RISC-V Alliance, the organization includes the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology, a manufacturer of servers and data storage systems Yadro Group of Companies, a developer of Baikal Electronics processors, a developer of the Vostok technological software and hardware platform , a developer of secure OS and virtualization platforms Astra Group of Companies.
The RISC-V alliance will be engaged in the formation of the RISC-V ecosystem in Russia. The association members will ensure the compatibility of solutions based on this microarchitecture, create a testing ground for developer solutions, and provide access to technologies, components and product samples based on it.
In addition, the work of the alliance will focus on the development and adaptation of industry standards based on RISC-V, ensuring the accelerated launch of developments into mass industrial use, expert support for software developers, training students to work with technologies based on RISC-V architecture, the alliance said. |
Yadro added that the Russian alliance plans to work in synergy with the international organization. It will be engaged in the formation of the RISC-V ecosystem in Russia, while its participants will optimize and ensure compatibility of RISC-V solutions, create a testing ground for developer solutions, and provide early access to technologies, components and product samples.[1]
