The Big Data Association (ADA) (formerly the Big Data Market Participants Association) was organized in October 2018. The main goal of the association is to create conditions for the development of technologies and products in the field of big data in Russia.

Areas of activity

The association is engaged in the creation of uniform principles and standards for the processing, storage, transmission and use of big data. The joint development of the association members will form the basis of the policy of handling Big Data of each member company of the Association.

The priority tasks of the organization are to develop a business-oriented strategy for the development of the big data market, increase the technical and operational efficiency of interaction between industry participants, as well as the formation of a code of ethics for the use of big data to protect the interests of users (data for 2022).

2022

Cooperation Agreement with Digital power

On September 28, 2022, Digital power and the Big Data Association entered into a cooperation agreement.

This agreement provides for close cooperation of associations in the development of big data technologies (DB) in the commercial accounting of electricity and forecasting its consumption, as well as personnel management of industry enterprises and other processes critical for organizations.

Joining the Rosselkhozbank ABD

On April 8, 2022, Rosselkhozbank joined the Big Data Association. Organizations will jointly form a policy for handling Big Data, work to improve the technical and operational efficiency of interaction between industry participants, as well as develop the Code of Ethics for the Use of Data to Protect the Interests of Users.

Rosselkhozbank intends to be active in existing ABD projects, participate in the development of new ones and promote its own initiatives. The use of big data is also aimed at achieving new levels of quality of production of goods in the agro-industrial complex and increasing indicators in the most relevant areas.

The accession of the bank, which is a key participant in the state program for the development of the agro-industrial complex of Russia, is an important milestone in the history of the ABD. Agriculture is recognized globally as the most promising industry for Big Data. In the agro-industrial complex, the need for the use of modern technologies, including data collection, storage and processing systems, is growing. Based on them, it became possible to automate most agricultural processes by creating a model of the entire production cycle, including planning the schedule of work, calculating future yields, production costs and profits. Cooperation between the Big Data Association and Rosselkhozbank will help to further look at the possibilities of using big data technologies in agriculture.

2021

Opening of FIT Academy Russia

On December 17, 2021, the executive director of the Big Data Association Alexei Neiman presented FIT Academy Russia (FAR) - the Russian representative office of the official educational partner of DAMA International - FIT Academy Global.

As part of their activities, FAR and its licensed trainers will conduct courses on, data management as well as prepare participants for, the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) exam. The Big Data Association and NP GLONASS are preparing a standard for the Avtodata platform

Anna Serebryannikova, President of the Big Data Association (ABD), and Alexander Gurko, President of GLONASS NP, co-author of the Autonet NTI working group, signed a memorandum of cooperation and interaction between big data market participants in the motor transport sector in June 2019. The bilateral agreement was signed at the site of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2019.

The strategic document is aimed at the development of the big data market and the formation of domestic industry standards for working with big data in the automotive sector.

As part of the cooperation, NP GLONASS will provide metadata aggregated by the national Avtodat platform into the Association's digital sandbox for research and development of digital solutions and platforms for the transport industry based on them. The parties also agreed on the exchange of experience and expertise in the field of big data analysis, as well as on joint work with technology startups.
