2023: Contract with Medskan
On April 12, 2023, the Governor of the Penza Region Oleg Melnichenko held a working meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Medskan Evgeny Tugolukov. During the dialogue, the parties discussed the possibility of building a Nuclear Medicine Center in Penza.
The head of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation stressed that the problem of cancer in the Sursky Territory requires an urgent solution. In this regard, it is possible to start creating the Center for Nuclear Medicine in 2023.
The project to create the Center for Nuclear Medicine includes a cyclotron production complex, departments of positron emission tomography, radionuclide diagnostics and therapy. The press service of the regional government reported that following the meeting, cooperation was concluded between the government of the Penza region and the Medskan Group of Companies.
The company is ready to invest up to 700 million rubles in the project. The work is planned to be completed in 2025.
This is an incredibly important project that will significantly improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment of cancer and cardiovascular diseases. This will help save many lives, - said Oleg Melnichenko.[1]

To Penza They started talking about the need to create a center for nuclear medicine in 2019. The current governor of the Penza region at that time Ivan Belozertsev hoped to implement the project together with the Schwabe holding in the format of a public-private partnership. It was planned to hand over the object by the end of 2020. It was reported that the modular center will allow up to 12.5 thousand studies on PET annually CT with the need of the region in 7-10 thousand. The volume of investments in the launch of the medical organization was not initially disclosed, later the media wrote that the investments were estimated at 2 billion rubles in 2019 prices. The reasons for the change of investor are unknown.
