2021: Opening of a vascular center in Novosibirsk

In mid-October 2021, on the basis of the Central Clinical Hospital (CDC) of Novosibirsk, a regional vascular center (RSC) was opened, designed to provide round-the-clock specialized medical and diagnostic care for patients with acute cerebrovascular accident and acute coronary syndrome according to the profiles of "neurosurgery," "X-ray endovascular diagnosis and treatment."

A total of 370 units of medical equipment were purchased for the new center, including magnetic resonance and X-ray computed tomographs, an angiographic complex, in the amount of 467.5 million rubles (48.9 million rubles are federal budget funds).

According to the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, with the opening of the new RSC, additional opportunities appeared to provide emergency assistance to residents of Akademgorodok, Berdsk, Iskitim, areas of the southern direction. This will redistribute flows between the Meshalkin center and the new object.

By October 2021, 12 primary vascular departments and regional vascular centers operate in the Novosibirsk region today - on the basis of the regional hospital, city hospital No. 1, the Road Clinical Hospital and the Academician Meshalkin National Medical Research Center.

The center occupies a four-story building of the former therapeutic building of the Central Clinical Hospital. The RSC provides a rehabilitation department with simulators with biological feedback for the development of motor skills of small and large joints, verticalization of patients, and restoration of walking function.

Sergei Boytsov, general director of the National Medical Research Center of Cardiology of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, noted that the new RSC has become an important link in the routing chain of patients with acute coronary syndrome and acute cerebrovascular accident. According to the chief physician of the Central Clinical Hospital Irena Tsytsorina, the institution plans to make the RSC the base of the departments of NSU and NGMU, and in the future to create a training center with a clinical base.[1]
