2021: Cooperation Agreement with NIIURS

Autonomous non-profit organization Research Institute for Sustainable development in construction "(ANO" NIIURS ") and the Association of Data Center Industry Participants concluded strategic cooperation agreement. This became known on March 3, 2021.

The purpose of the agreement is the exchange of experience, joint research and practical work aimed at achieving sustainable development in design and building data centers.

Sustainability from fashion turns into an approach to creating real estate. This will not bypass the data center sphere. Reducing energy intensity, decarbonization, etc. - stable trends that will only increase. In [[Data Center_(Market_Russia) _Kommercheskiye_data-tsentry'Rossii Market

The data center]] is young, and in order for it to develop in the right vector in which the whole world is developing, it was decided to create a system of sustainable development for data centers. Companies are confident that it will be a useful, professional tool that will combine recommendations, events and best practices for creating data centers. The future system is based on approaches that are already used in Russia for March 2021. One example is the system sustainable development in the construction of Green Zoom, which was developed in 2014 and is actively developing in the residential real estate and industry sectors. Together, we will create our own system and standard for greener and less energy-intensive data centers.

Yes, of course, this is a long way, so tomorrow we will not be able to make data centers one hundred percent environmentally friendly and will not cease to need energy resources, no matter what solutions are implemented. But it is simply necessary to start moving along this path, get acquainted with the best world practices, bring the best and jointly form a progressive market, - the director of ANO NIIURS commented on the signing of the cooperation agreement Vera üÒÓµÑóá.

2013: Main tasks of the Association

Domestic standards governing the construction, operation of data centers and the creation of services based on them are necessary for the development of the domestic segment of cloud services - one of the most dynamic areas of the IT market in Russia and around the world. However, the new realities of the IT market are not yet sufficiently reflected in Russian legislation, and Russian GOSTs in the field of telecommunications and data protection often require modernization. As of October 2013, Russian telecommunications service providers are guided by international standards, the most famous of which are the Uptime Institute, ISO/IEC 27001, ISAE3402. However, these standards do not take into account Russian specifics - in particular, the requirements of legislation for the protection of information, as well as the peculiarities of the Russian energy infrastructure. According to the participants of the new Association, the development of domestic standards and the adaptation of existing GOSTs to a new technological reality are the necessary measures for successful competition with Western suppliers, whose penetration into the domestic market is intensified from year to year. According to the adopted work plan of the Association, the first versions of the standards will appear in 2013, and their approval is scheduled for early 2014.

The main objectives of the Association are the creation of a system of mutual support for market participants, the development of market infrastructure and demand for services, as well as legal support and lobbying for the interests of domestic data center service providers, including the development of legislative initiatives. "Legislation in the field of cloud services is under formation, while taking as a basis the existing laws and practices of regulating the offline services market is ineffective: cloud technologies require a different approach based not only on domestic practice, but also on best foreign experience. Given the global nature of cloud technologies and services based on them, this can be a good incentive for the development of the domestic cloud services market, "said Evgeny Shchepilov, head of Servionica (I-Teco Group of Companies), which manages the TrustInfo data center.

The proliferation of cloud services stimulates the development of the data center market. In Russia (in autumn 2013) there are more than 170 commercial data centers and it is expected that their total area in 2013 will increase by 22 thousand square meters. m Investments in this segment will increase by at least 25-30%. According to an analytical study by Orange Business Services, the market for cloud services for business in Russia will grow more than 4 times - to 19 billion rubles by 2016. This forecast is confirmed by the practice of the Russian market: the segment of data center services and cloud services is growing faster today than the entire IT industry. For example, explosive growth was noted in the category of IT infrastructure rental services (IaaS). According to iKS-Consulting, the Russian market for data center services in 2012 grew by 22% and amounted to 6.2 billion rubles. By the end of 2016, the cloud services market will amount to more than $460 million.
