History

2023: Attracting RUB 307 mln of investments

The company "Health of the City" - the Russian developer of the online platform of digital therapy for people with chronic diseases "Здоровье.ру," a resident of the Skolkovo Foundation and the Moscow Innovation Cluster - closed the investment round for 307 million rubles. This was reported to Zdrav.Expert on March 17, 2023 by representatives of the Skolkovo Foundation. The lead investor was the investment company Kama Flow, investors of the Syndicate venture club also took part in the deal, including: CEO of the club Vyacheslav Shulenin, CFO AvitoSergey Piven, co-founder of Angelsdeck Sergey Dashkov and others.

Kama Flow's acquired stake was not disclosed. The investor expects that by 2026 the company will be able to increase revenue 10 times by launching a B2C subscription and leading the emerging digital therapy market in Russia. According to the forecast of Kama Flow, by 2025 the domestic market for digital therapy and patient care will exceed 100 billion rubles. The main growth drivers will be the ongoing migration of drug and laboratory diagnostics markets online, the development of personal medical assistants, as well as the digitalization and personification of patient support programs by the largest pharmaceutical companies.

"We are consistently increasing the portfolio of solutions in the field of digital health as part of the implementation of our strategy for creating an ecosystem of products based on medical data that will create additional value for all participants in the health care system - from drug development to patient care," said Kirill Tishin, partner, senior investment director of Kama Flow.

In his opinion, "Здоровье.ру" offers a well-developed line of solutions for accompanying patients with various diseases on the market. Further integration with EMR data and the development of monitoring by specialists will make the patient's path more effective and reduce the burden on the healthcare system by reducing the risks of undesirable effects during therapy and cases of hospitalization in a hospital, Kirill Tishin said.

According to the developers, Здоровье.ру is a digital therapy platform for people with chronic diseases. Digital therapy is a method of treatment using digital services (drug control, diaries and symptom analytics with device integration, education, communities, AI medical assistant, meditations, doctor's appointment and other services), which are aimed at changing the behavior and culture of a person's attitude to their health. These services are developed on the principles of evidence-based medicine and undergo research to prove the medical and economic effect.

All services are developed in partnership with federal medical universities, leading pharmaceutical companies and institutions. The platform is officially connected to the Unified State Information System in the field of health care (Uniform State Health Information System), meets all security requirements for the processing, protection and storage of personal data within the framework of the legislation of the Russian Federation.

The investments received in the Health of the City companies are planned to be directed to expanding the number of nosologies and support services for doctors and patients using medical devices, as well as launching a subscription to premium services for health care.

According to the company, "Здоровье.ру" is distinguished by a wide range of services for more than 25 nosologies. This allowed the platform to gather an audience of more than 600 thousand patients with chronic diseases. At the "Здоровье.ру," 5 thousand units of content were created with doctors (video tutorials, articles, podcasts, meditations, etc.) based on evidence-based medicine. More than 10 pharmaceutical companies are working with the project, including J&J, Roche, Sanofi, AstraZeneca, Takeda, Dr Reddy's, OlainFarm and others, and 3,000 specialists have already joined the Здоровье.ру Doctor mobile product launched in the summer of 2022.

In February 2022, the company announced the attraction of 135 million rubles from the private network of clinics Medsi"" at an estimate of 1 billion rubles, but by agreement of the parties, the deal was frozen and subsequently terminated. The main reason was the temporary suspension venture capital deals due to increased risks due to turbulence in the market. As of March 2023, Здоровье.ру and Medsi have partnerships and friendships. Medsi explained that they continue to monitor the development of the project, highly appreciate its potential and welcome the conclusion of the deal in such difficult conditions for the venture capital market.

As noted, investments in Здоровье.ру became the third major deal in the digital medicine segment for Kama Flow over the past two years. Towards the end of 2022, the fund announced the closure of an investment round with the developer of "smart operating" MVS for 325 million rubles, and previously financed the Russian developer of medical image analysis systems for Celsus.ai 180 million rubles.

2022: Receiving 135 million rubles of investments from Medsi

On February 14, 2022, the Medsi group of companies announced to Zdrav.Expert that it had invested 135 million rubles in Health of the City LLC, the developer of the Здоровье.ру platform for supporting people with chronic diseases. As a result of the transaction, Medsi's share in Health of the City LLC amounted to 12%, and the company's valuation increased to 1 billion 135 million rubles.

According to the founder of the Здоровье.ру project, social entrepreneur Eric Brovko, the attracted investments will be aimed at creating new products and scaling current services.
