Founded in 2017 by Etienne Bourdon and CEO Luca Schnettler, startup Qumata is developing insurance software by selling an API solution that is integrated by insurance companies through several distribution channels. The solution allows applicants for life and health insurance to easily share digital health data in an online format, instead of completing questionnaires or undergoing medical examinations.

2021: Attracting $10 million investment
In early June 2021, the British developer of the application for tracking the health of customers of insurance companies Qumata announced the completion of the Series A funding round for $10 million. The round was led by MMC Ventures, which was joined by AdirVentures and TMT Investments.
The company plans to use the funds to accelerate the global expansion of existing offerings after the launch of the product on a commercial basis with several large insurance companies listed on the exchange, in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Great Britain and North America.
As part of the deal, existing board members Luca Schnettler, Etienne Bourdon and Richard di Benedetto will be joined by MMC Ventures partner Oliver Richards and former CEO of National General Insurance, AdirVentures founder Barry Carfunkel.
Qumata has every opportunity to carry out much-needed transformations in the traditional field of life and health insurance with a truly innovative solution based on data science, which is unique in the market, said MMC Ventures partner Oliver Richards. - With a proven technology platform, a strong leadership team and ambitious international growth plans, we are delighted to be part of this exciting journey.[1] |
