History

2021

Revenue of ₽1,2 billion from data center services

In 2021, the commercial services of data centers brought Rosenergoatom 1.2 billion rubles of revenue. This was reported by the concern on December 28, 2021, summing up the work of its digital unit.

According to the deputy head - director of economics and finance of Rosenergoatom Sergey Migalin, in 2021 the concern earned 560 million rubles of EBITDA profit from the sale of digital products. The digital business is built around an integrated proposal of a digital nuclear power plant of Russian development and data infrastructure, he said.

In 2021, commercial services of data centers brought Rosenergoatom 1.2 billion rubles of revenue

According to the press service of Rosenergoatom, in 2021 the company entered the top ten largest data center operators in Russia, including thanks to transactions to acquire new sites: Xelent, one of the largest data centers in St. Petersburg at 954 racks and a data center StoreData at 160 racks in Moscow.

In 2021, IT Park, Stack Kazakhstan, TISBI Management University and Innopolis University entered into agreements with Rosenergoatom for a reserve of 500 racks in the Innopolis data center in Tatarstan, the design capacity of which will be up to 2000 server racks. By the end of 2021, design and survey work for the implementation of the project was completed, and the commissioning of the first stage of the data center is scheduled for 2023.

By the end of 2021, more than 100 digital projects of the Rosatom electric power division were focused on solving tasks to increase internal efficiency. Among them are large-scale technological projects: the creation of a single platform for the operation, maintenance and repair processes, engineering support for the station, the creation of an automated system for managing the resources and production processes of the station, the development of a system for managing the timing and cost of building the station to create a single digital data exchange loop from the general contractor to the customer and investor on NPP construction projects.[1]

Rosenergoatom began to introduce video cameras with a neural network at nuclear power plants to detect safety violations

In October 2021, Rosenergoatom announced the start of a large-scale implementation of a video analytics system at its nuclear power plants to comply with safety and industrial safety. The project is being implemented by VizorLabs. More details here.

Leningrad NPP begins to use a robot that has no analogues in the world

In May 2021, it became known that the Leningrad NPP began to use a robot that has no analogues in the world. We are talking about a device that allows you to diagnose and repair the lining of walls and the bottom of the fuel pools of power units with VVER-1200 reactors. More details here.

Creation of cloud simulator for training of university students in NPP management

In April 2021, it became known about the creation of a cloud simulator for training students of specialized universities in nuclear power plant management. This is the development of the All-Russian Research Institute for the Operation of Nuclear Power Plants (JSC VNIIAES, part of Rosenergoatom). More details here.

2020

Rosenergoatom develops digital platforms and tools for nuclear power plants

They will be included in the new product - "Operation Template." The concern intends to use it at its own nuclear power plants and offer organizations that will operate foreign nuclear power plants, being built according to the Russian design[2].

For Russian nuclear power plants and stations being built according to the SBI scheme abroad, Rosenergoatom has developed an "Operation Template." This is a complex of integrated digital systems using which basic business processes function - operation management (from construction to decommissioning), repairs, personnel, interaction of the operating organization with the network operator, information exchange with partners, consumers, etc.

SBI (build - own - operate, "build - own - operate") is a public-private implementation mechanism in which a private organization builds, owns and manages facilities or structures with a certain degree of government support. Unlike the build - own - operate - transfer (BOOT, "build - own - operate - transfer") or build - operate - transfer (BOT, "build - operate - transfer") scheme, a private structure owns the object and should not transfer it to the state at the end of the agreed term.

The "operation template" complements the digital systems serving the economic activities of nuclear power plants - conclusion of contracts, procurement, cash flow - which were introduced about two years ago. Business processes go in software and hardware complexes - these are the so-called digital assistants, each performs a specific task.

Digital assistants from Rosenergoatom:

  • NPP documentation and information model
  • Predictive Hardware Analytics
  • Voice Control and Biometrics Video Analytics PPE Health Monitoring
  • Smart MCDS
  • Digital Radioscopy
  • Remote control of cranes
  • Monitoring of FA installation
  • Perimeter control with robots
  • Digital passports of employees
  • VR Training Platform
  • NPP start-up simulator
  • 3D Hologram and Positioning
  • 3D Drawings and Knowledge Model
  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Platform
  • Trusted Mobile Environment

Over the past few years, Rosenergoatom has spent more than $10 million on the creation of a basic set of systems - a technical documentation unit, an operation, repair and maintenance control unit and a knowledge and competence management unit.

The Russian stations already operate digital platforms responsible for operation: systems for assessing readiness for repairs, systems for managing equipment maintenance, personnel management and its competencies. Separate digital assistants have been introduced at Smolensk, Balakovskaya, Novovoronezhskaya, Kola NPP and at Rosenergoatom subsidiaries. This year, the Operation Template will begin to be fully implemented at all stations in Russia. It can be used on units with a reactor of any series (VVER, RBMK, KLT). In parallel, the Operation Template will be adapted for foreign units owned by Rosatom under the BOO scheme. It is necessary to translate into another language and, if necessary, adjust technical documentation and other (for example, visual) components of digital systems in accordance with local features. The deployment of the complex should increase the efficiency of the stations and reduce the unit costs of generating kilowatt-hour of electricity.

Operation Template Summary

Operation requires a large number of tasks. One of them is monitoring the physical condition of personnel using measurements of temperature, pressure and pulse. Biometric control allows to minimize mistakes of employees due to ill health or excitement or even simply prevent personnel from performing operations. The facial recognition system controls access to the station area, which was defined in the technical assignment for repair, and does not allow employees who do not have the right of access to enter a particular room.

Another task is to create a digital twin of the enterprise. 3D holograms and positioning and 3D drawings help the employee determine his location at the NPP (especially if the specialist at the station is the first time). On a work tablet, he sees a three-dimensional model of the station and can track his route. Augmented reality systems will help obtain technical documentation for a specific node or system. If you put a tablet on an object, the screen displays information about German. In a working tablet, you can quickly update data on objects after they have been manipulated (for example, measurement or repair). Storing and updating the entire array of technical documentation is also an independent task.

The repair management system is based on predictive analytics using machine learning algorithms. It advises personnel to make decisions when operating the equipment. Predictive analytics allows the equipment to reduce its downtime during repair without loss of working conditions by implementing an on-demand repair scheme, and not only according to plan. Sensors installed on the unit record its state, and the operator in real time receives detailed information from the system calibrated on the basis of previously accumulated and current data. If necessary, the operator can adjust the operating mode or prepare the unit for repair in time.

Rosenergoatom pays special attention to personnel management, since within five years the concern must train several thousand people to work at new Russian and foreign stations. The traditional way of obtaining knowledge is not suitable: the company does not have decades to transfer experience from the older generation to the younger generation. We need proven digital educational programs that can be scaled to any number of students: electronic courses, training using virtual reality technologies, digital simulators that simulate the equipment of a working nuclear power plant. For employees, digital passports will be created in which their competencies will be indicated, as well as information about the courses and exams completed, experience, dose load, place of work, being at a given NPP at a certain moment, etc.

Headquarters in Moscow

To deploy digital systems at foreign nuclear power plants, it is necessary to organize data transfer to Moscow: there is an actual center for decision-making, technological expertise and crisis resolution. It is necessary to construct secure channels of communication, to organize cross-border data transmission, to construct data-processing centers (DPCs), to adapt digital solutions to language and cultural features of other countries.

In a sense, Rosenergoat was lucky: it will deploy digital systems at foreign stations now that these technologies have become relatively massive. There is a choice of suppliers, solutions, technologies have become much cheaper than five years ago, which allows you to quickly recoup investments in digital solutions and ensure the cost-effectiveness of new digital systems.

Now both Russian systems (including Rosenergoatom developments) and foreign ones are used for the Operation Template. In order not to depend on one supplier, the concern buys solutions from different contractors, leaving behind the functions of a system architect and integrator. Priority is given to technologically independent solutions that are not subject to supplier sanctions or monopoly.

Rosenergoatom did not find Russian software for the operation of nuclear power plants. Will use SAP and IBM

Rosenergoatom is completing the development of the Operation Template and in 2020 will scale the product to all 11 Russian nuclear power plants. Partially, it has already been tested at the Smolensk and Balakovo nuclear power plants. Since 2016, Rosenergoatom has already invested about ten million dollars in the development of the Operation Template. This was announced to TAdviser by Deputy General Director - Director for Economics and Finance of Rosenergoatom Sergey Migalin on March 18, 2020. More details here.

Rosatom company invests 10 billion rubles in the creation of a network-data centers

Over the next 3-4 years, Rosenergoatom is going to invest at least 10 billion rubles in the project for the construction of a distributed network of the Mendeleev data center in Russia. The project involves the creation of four data centers in the country: in Innopolis, St. Petersburg and Moscow. This was announced by Deputy General Director - Director for Economics and Finance of Rosenergoatom Sergey Migalin on March 18, 2020.

The construction of reference data centers, according to Migalin, was initially caused by the need of Rosenergoatom to place data from its numerous systems. Subsequently, the concern decided to focus data centers on customers, which was due to two reasons. Firstly, Rosenergoatom estimated the benefits of using a data center located near a nuclear power plant, as well as the quality of its cloud solutions. Secondly, the concern learned about the expectations of DPC service offerings from its foreign customers, mainly from Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.

Foreign customers are interested in offering data center services from Rosenergoatom, "said Sergey Migalin. (photo - sdelanounas.ru)

The design of the data center in Innopolis is already in the process of completion. Sites for its placement have also been identified, said Sergey Migalin.

File:Aquote1.png
"We become residents of the Innopolis SEZ. During the next half of the year, Rosenergoatom expects to begin construction of the data center, "said Sergey Migalin.
File:Aquote2.png

The concern signed a memorandum on the creation of a data center with the Innopolis SEZ and the IT Park technopark in May 2019.

In Moscow, Rosenergoatom will be engaged in the construction of a data center together with one of the major federal companies. From which point, Sergey Migalin did not tell, adding that the concern is at the stage of transition to the signing of binding agreements with it.

File:Aquote1.png
The data center in Moscow will be large-scale. In other words, a hyperDPC with a capacity of about 1 thousand racks. Estimated investments in it will be from 5 to 9 billion rubles. In addition, in Moscow, Rosenergoatom will create another data center - at the sites of Rosatom, slightly smaller than the first, "said Sergey Migalin.
File:Aquote2.png

The concern is also thinking about creating a data center with a capacity of 1-1.5 thousand racks in St. Petersburg or its environs.

File:Aquote1.png
It is important for Rosenergoatom to build a geographically closed Moscow-Udomlya-St. Petersburg cluster in connection with the location of a number of nuclear power plants in the north of the country, as well as the implementation of projects related to the northern sea route by the concern in the future. The data center in Innopolis is important for the concern from the point of view of being in the Volga region, "said Sergey Migalin.
File:Aquote2.png

Rosenergoatom also plans to create its own data center in Turkey by 2023, which will be able to be used for a number of support systems for the construction and operation of Akkuyu NPP.

In September 2019, the concern announced its intention to implement a project for a global network of data centers based on nuclear power plants. The placement of data centers on their territory is dictated by the goal of Rosenergoatom to ensure the maximum safety of data centers, as well as receive economic benefits. [[3] The construction of a data center based on Russian nuclear power plants is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020.

As of March 19, 2020, Rosenergoatom already has the Kalininsky reference data center on the basis of the Kalinin NPP near the city of Udomlya in the Tver Region. The capacity of the data center is 4.8 thousand resistant seats. It was launched into commercial operation in 2018. In September 2019, a site for the placement of modular and container data centers began work on the basis of the data center. Rosenergoatom also has a small site in Moscow with data center functions to meet its own needs.

In January 2020, Rosenergoatom, together with the international data center operator LinKey, created Atomdata, which will perform the function of marketing and promoting the services and services of the data center of the concern for commercial Russian and foreign customers. Both founders own 50% of its authorized capital, the amount of which is 20 million rubles.

Atomdata, according to Sergei Migalin, will promote in foreign countries not only data center services based on nuclear power plants, but also other commercial data centers of Rosenergoatom. However, the first countries that can use the services of Atomdata, Migalin, nevertheless, sees those where the concern is deploying activities to create nuclear power plants. We are talking about Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.

File:Aquote1.png
Atomdata will act as a single business integrator of solutions focused on the integrated use of the geographically distributed global data center infrastructure and communication channels, cloud solutions available to both partners. The technological function of supporting and operating the data center and providing hardware capacity in the data center is carried out by the Rosenergoatom service company - Consist Telecom Operator, "added Sergey Migalin.
File:Aquote2.png

As of March 18, 2020, Rosenergoatom, together with Linkay, has developed an Atomdata action plan. What specific actions of the company he suggests Sergey Migalin TAdviser did not tell. Participation in the Linkay enterprise, he said, presents Rosenergoatom with the possibility of cooperation with the marketing operator.

File:Aquote1.png
Some foreign customers do not want to buy data center services directly from the concern as a state corporation due to various restrictions imposed by their countries and other similar circumstances, "explained Sergey Migalin.

Rosenergoatom opened an online technical documentation store: 1.1 thousand documents worth 422 million rubles

Rosenergoatom Concern introduced a new digital service - Electronic Technical Documentation Store. According to the corporation, the service will allow customers to increase the level of safe operation of nuclear power plants at all stages of the life cycle, as well as reduce the time and cost of implementing the construction of nuclear power plants - due to the absence of the need to develop their own regulatory framework.

In addition, the company is confident that the service will significantly facilitate and accelerate the process of obtaining licenses and other permits, including from supervisory authorities.

The new digital service was created by the joint efforts of the Rosenergoatom concern, Rosatom, as well as the Krok company, which was involved in the development of the product through an appropriate tender, TAdviser indicated at Rosatom. The total value of the contract with Krok, according to fabrikant.ru, amounted to 19.6 million rubles. How much in general was the cost of creating the TAdviser service was not disclosed.

The process of creating the system was started in November 2018, it entered pilot operation in April 2019. Industrial operation of the system began in September 2019. Her first customers appeared in September 2019. In general, among the potential customers of the service at Rosatom are Russian and foreign developers, operators and designers of nuclear power plants.

Among the potential customers of the Rosatom electronic store are Russian and foreign developers, operators and designers of nuclear power plants, the corporation says

As explained in the corporation, the service is a system for supporting sales of technical documentation. Access to it, as of December 2019, can be obtained only from a personal computer. The system provides operating organizations with the opportunity to search for regulatory and technical documentation for the operation of Russian design nuclear power plants in a single base, as well as its order online. However, the user can purchase documentation only if the legal entity is registered and exclusively for himself.

File:Aquote1.png
Only the company that entered into an agreement with Rosenergoatom for its purchase has the rights to the purchased documentation. If anyone else uses the documentation, this is recorded by the monitoring system and the corresponding proceedings are carried out with the company, "explained Ekaterina Solntseva, director of digitalization at Rosatom.
File:Aquote2.png

In addition to searching for and buying regulatory and technical documentation within the framework of the service, Rosenergoatom provides interested companies with methodological and consulting assistance when purchasing it, provides services for translating the ordered documentation into English, as well as transferring certified copies on paper.

As of December, the electronic store posted more than 1.1 thousand technical documents with annotations totaling more than 422 million rubles. For the convenience of foreign users, it is possible to purchase documents in English. Analogues, as assured by TAdviser Ekaterina Solntseva, there is no electronic store in Russia.

File:Aquote1.png
But the system will still be finalized. First, in 2020, its one and a half version will appear, then the second. The refinement will be carried out in three areas: functional - small additional options will be provided in the service, user - the system will be made more convenient for use, for example - it will be available from a mobile device, content - the store's document base will be expanded, "informed TAdviser Ekaterina Solntseva.
File:Aquote2.png

Speaking about the process of creating the service, Oleg Shalnov, director of the IT project management and integration department of the Rosenergoatom concern, noted that his main difficulty was to combine the transparency of the transfer of information from the protected Rosenergoatom circuit to the external circuit of the electronic store with the prevention of threats and leaks. However, this complexity was overcome - according to the results of the work, this joint, according to Shalnov, meets all the requirements for information security of Rosatom. And these requirements, as Shalnov noted, are among the highest in the world.

Cooperation with the Association of Data Center Industry Participants to Improve the Conditions for the Implementation of the "Figure of the Russian Economy"

Rosenergoatom Concern (part of the Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Association of Participants in the Data Center Industry. This was announced on September 20, 2019 by the president of the Association Igor Dorofeev.

The subject of the agreement is the coordination of activities to improve the conditions for the implementation of the Digital Economy of Russia program, as well as the effective development of the data center market, the formation of high-quality and reliable services, and assistance to Russian service providers and manufacturers of data center equipment.

File:Aquote1.png
All data centers are usually concentrated in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other large cities, but if some kind of location arises in the regions, a synergistic effect appears, additional businesses arise. Leading international companies that are a traffic generator attract a large number of businesses, such as Google, Facebook and others, are ready to experiment, invest in open IT production. And all breakthrough technologies appear just in such companies. Therefore, the data center of Rosenergoatom, in my view, as the president of the Association, is a very interesting object, which may be a driver in the development of the data center industry in principle. This is a very effective cooperation,

2018: IoT Platform Development, Big Data and SAP

In May 2018, the operator of Russian nuclear power plants - Rosenergoatom Concern - in the annual report announced in which projects it was involved in the implementation of the Digital Economy program and new IT products created in the company in the field of digital transformation.

Rosenergoatom - on the road to digital transformation

As part of the digitalization of the Russian economy, there are tasks to transition to the intelligent energy system of Russia (IESD), which provides for the synthesis of energy and information systems, a change in the structure of the energy system and the principles of its management: the consumer and distribution networks become the object of control and self-balancing.

Rosenergoatom is a direct participant in the transition to IESD. For this, a "national platform solution" is being developed. Rosatom and Rosenergoatom, together with Russian companies, will create a single digital platform IoT Energy, the concern said in a report.

The new platform should ensure integration and processing of information about energy facilities based on the approved CIM model (Common Information Model).

From the Rosenergoatom report for 2017

In 2017, work was carried out on the creation of other digital products, the basis of which are information systems for supporting production processes. These include processes of operational operation, maintenance and repair of equipment, accounting of operation experience, management of technical documentation, collection and transfer of power unit parameters. This list also includes processes for managing the timing and cost of construction of capital construction facilities and a number of others.

A separate stage of Rosenergoatom's digital transformation is a digital template for the experience of NPP operations.

{{quote 'Modern NPP control shall be carried out in digital format using IT process support solutions. The concern is faced with a task not just automate processes, but create a single system management tool NPP - full digital template (or model) of operation, which includes management of resources, personnel, maintenance and repair, analytics, risk and base knowledge and which can be replicated as an integrated solution, including to Rosenergoatom's foreign projects, the group's annual report says.}}

Rosenergoatom plans to complete the creation of a reference template in Russia and its replication to foreign markets within 3-4 years.

Rosenergoatom also has the task of developing a digital platform for maintenance and repair of equipment at pilot facilities - Balakovskaya and Smolensk NPP - with the subsequent creation of a new digital product.

The existing NPP service management platform in the concern (maintenance and repair, operation experience) is the basis for the development of a new product offering of the concern's services based on "big data."

The annual report of Rosenergoatom notes that in 2017, an important step was taken towards digital transformation - the introduction of corporate information systems was completed: a centralized SAP ERP enterprise resource management system, an SAP HCM personnel management system, and an EHMS electronic document management system in all 16 branches of the concern. The total number of SAP ERP users in enterprises exceeded 4 thousand people.

2017

At Russian nuclear power plants in 2017, the replication project of the SAP ERP system was completed. This was announced at the SAP Forum in April by Sergey Migalin, deputy general director - director for economics and finance of the Rosenergoatom concern, operator of Russian nuclear power plants. More details - in a separate article:

2016

In the annual report for 2016, published at the end of May 2017, Rosenergoatom reported on the most important IT projects implemented.

Enterprise Information Systems

One of the largest projects of the year for Rosenergoatom was the introduction of SAP ERP in branches and at nuclear power plants. The system was introduced a year ahead of schedule in ten branches (instead of the planned three): at Beloyarskaya, Bilibinsky, Kalinin, Kola, Kursk, Smolensk, in the Directorate of the Baltic under construction, at Kostroma NPP, Voronezh AST, ODIC. In 2017, the project was completed. Read more about it in a separate article.

In addition, a single SED was put into industrial operation in 8 branches of the concern instead of the planned 5: at Balakovskaya, Rostov, Novovoronezhskaya, Kalinin, Kola, Kursk, Beloyarskaya and Smolensk NPP. More than 13 thousand users (this is a fifth of the system users in the industry) are connected to the system, which ensured the transition of branches to a single electronic document flow. In the first quarter of 2017, the system was introduced at the Bilibinsk NPP and ODIC, completing the process of its implementation in the concern.

Divisional Information Systems

In 2016, Rosenergoatom created an archive of technical documentation governing the safe operation of NPP power units. The implementation was implemented within the framework of the automated technical documentation management system (APCS). By the end of 2016, more than 3,500 employees worked in APCS, more than 280 thousand technical documents were posted in the system.

To provide the participants of NPP construction projects with reliable and timely information necessary to identify risks and make effective management decisions in the field of time and cost management, as well as increase the efficiency of the implementation of the processes for the construction of capital facilities, an automated system for monitoring the construction of facilities and an information system for managing the portfolio of projects were developed and implemented.

In the Central Office and at two nuclear power plants, a prototype of a system for searching unstructured operation data of nuclear power plants in various sources of information using the HP Idol solution was created and tested. The system was created as part of the information system for recording and analyzing the experience of NPP operation.

IT Infrastructure

In 2016, Rosenergoatom developed and approved the terms of reference for the design of the disaster-tolerant IT infrastructure of the concern based on the federal reference data center at the Kalinin NPP. The project is being implemented in 2017.

The implementation of the first stage of the virtual desktop system was also carried out, which made it possible to fulfill Rosatom's requirements for improving information security as soon as possible, Rosenergoatom notes.

2015

In the annual report for 2015, Rosenergoatom reported on the most important IT projects implemented. The company paid great attention to the implementation of the IT transformation program: the implementation of SAP ERP, SAP HCM, SAP SRM, a single SED, the implementation of division programs for the development of IT support for technological processes, capital construction processes, the development of distributed IT infrastructure and the creation of standard data centers at nuclear power plants.

IT Infrastructure

In terms of IT infrastructure, in 2015, the company modernized and commissioned nodes of the corporate data network at eight nuclear power plants, which made it possible to increase the throughput of the main channels in the direction of NPP to 10 Mb/s. Work was also carried out on the installation and commissioning of standard data centers at the Beloyarskaya, Kalinin and Kursk nuclear power plants, which was a continuation of the project begun in 2013.

The creation of standard data centers at Rosenergoatom facilities began in 2013 with Balakovskaya and Smolensk NPP

In the central office of Rosenergoatom and at eight nuclear power plants, a user technical support system was introduced on the HP Service Manager platform . In addition, the central office has begun work on the implementation of the virtual desktop system.

Application systems

In 2015, in the direction of applied IT systems, the functionality of the resource management system (SAP ERP) was refined and put into pilot operation in the central office, capital project branch, at the Balakovskaya, Leningrad, Novovoronezhskaya and Rostov nuclear power plants. In 2016-2017, SAP ERP is scheduled to be replicated to all branches of the group, according to the annual report.

The implementation of the personnel management system at the Balakovo NPP was carried out and its replication to the Novovoronezhskaya, Rostov and Smolensk NPP began. In 2016, it is planned to replicate the system to all branches of the concern - existing nuclear power plants and Moscow branches.

The information subsystem of labor protection qualification support, operation, repair, safety (IPPC), which is part of the group's personnel management system along with the basic part - the IASUP industry personnel management system, was also finalized and put into industrial operation at Balakovo NPP and Leningrad NPP.

Other key projects include the development and commissioning of the basic functionality of the NPP Operation Support Information System at units No. 1, 2, 3 of the Smolensk NPP, No. 5 of the Novovoronezhskaya NPP.

A comprehensive system of centralized operational planning and production control in the central apparatus and at the Balakovskaya, Smolensk, Kalinin NPP (pilot operation at the Rostov, Kursk NPP) was introduced into industrial operation. In 2016, it is planned to introduce an integrated system at four more NPP of the concern.

The implemented functionality provides data collection, storage, transmission, calculation, analytical functions and display of information on the current state of NPP, provides work with 2000 2500 technological parameters with their collection and storage at the NPP level, as well as the transfer of all these parameters to the Rosenergoatom Crisis Center. In addition to the possibility of transmitting data from the NPP level to the level of the central apparatus, the platform will allow organizing the transfer of data from it to the NPP.

In addition, in 2015, a prototype of an automated maintenance and repair management system was developed at Smolensk NPP and its implementation is planned in the units of Smolensk NPP and full-featured implementation at Balakovo NPP.

Information security

In 2015, Rosenergoatom continued to modernize the integrated information security system (IS). The development (updating) of organizational, administrative and regulatory-methodological documentation for IS was initiated and carried out.

To protect the perimeter of the corporate network from cyber threats, work continued on the modernization of the firewall system. In the central office of the concern and at the existing nuclear power plants, the cryptographic protection system of video and conference channels was modernized.

Rosenergoatom notes that on a regular basis (weekly) monitoring, analysis and analysis of IB incidents are carried out.

2014

At the end of July 2015, the operator of Russian nuclear power plants, Rosenergoatom, reported on key IT projects that were implemented at Russian nuclear power plants last year. The work was carried out in three main areas: IT infrastructure, IS and application information systems.

In terms of IT infrastructure, in 2014, the infrastructure of the data center of the Rosenergoatom Crisis Center in Moscow was created and put into operation. The company also continued the project to create standard data centers at all nuclear power plants, which started in 2013. Last year, according to a Rosenergoatom report, standard data centers were put into pilot operation at the Beloyarskaya and Kalinin NPP. As of mid-2015, work on the commissioning into pilot operation of the data center at the Kursk NPP is also being completed .

In 2014, design and survey work was carried out, design and estimate documentation for the project for the creation of a reference data center at the Kalinin NPP was developed. The creation of the data center, in which it is planned to gradually place up to 8 thousand racks, is estimated at 6.4 billion rubles. Construction is scheduled for Q2 2015.

In information security addition to developing and updating the necessary organizational, administrative and regulatory-methodological documents at Rosenergoatom, in 2014, work was completed to certify automated systems in a secure version and certificates of compliance with information security requirements for informatization facilities were obtained: the central apparatus, the largest Russia in NPP, Balakovo Beloyarskaya, Kalininskaya,, Kola Kurskaya,,, and. Leningrad New Voronezh Rostovskaya Smolensk NPP

In the central office of Rosenergoatom and at 9 operating nuclear power plants, complexes have been introduced that firewall shielding protect the perimeter of the corporate network from cyber threats. At the existing NPP and in the central office of the concern, work was also carried out to introduce a subsystem information protection from unauthorized access on the basis. ON SecretNet

In addition, checks were carried out on the implementation of information security measures for IT systems at Kursk NPP, Leningrad NPP, Leningrad NPP-2, Rostov NPP.

In terms of applied IT systems, one of the main projects in 2014 was the development and launch of a technical documentation management system: in the central office of Rosenergoatom, it covered the management of regulatory documentation, and at Balakovo NPP - the management of production and technical documentation. The system provides storage and provision of operational access to more than 15 thousand technical documents of the central apparatus and more than 75 thousand production and technical documents and notifications of the Balakovo NPP.

For 2015-2016, it is planned to develop the functionality of this system in terms of storage and management of design and detailed documentation of nuclear power plants under construction and other operational documentation, as well as its replication to all nuclear power plants.

Another major project in 2014 was the introduction of an integrated system of centralized operational planning and production management at the Balakovskaya, Smolensk, Kalinin nuclear power plants and in the central apparatus of Rosenergoatom. As of mid-2015, the implementation of this system is underway at the Rostov and Kursk nuclear power plants.

The implemented functionality provides data collection, storage, transmission, calculation, analytical functions and display of information on the current state of NPP. The system provides operation with 2000-2500 process parameters with their collection and storage at the NPP level, as well as their transfer to the Rosenergoatom Crisis Center, which is the main consumer of these data. For 2015-2016, it is planned to introduce an integrated system at four more NPP of the concern.

2013

In 2013, the operator of Russian nuclear power plants, Rosenergoatom, paid special attention to projects related to increasing technological and information security, as well as the creation of an effective document management system, the company's annual report says.

One of the most important projects, in particular, was the introduction into pilot operation of the NPP operation support system at the pilot site - Smolensk Nuclear Power Plant. Since November 2013, the system in experimental mode was introduced at power unit No. 3 of Smolensk NPP, and by the end of 2014 it is planned to connect power units No. 1 and No. 2 to it. In the future, it is planned to replicate this system at all Russian nuclear power plants.

Operating processes of Smolensk NPP are automated on the basis of software developed by American company Ventyx An ABB Company

Among the projects of 2013, the introduction of a modernized node of the corporate data transmission network at the Kola, Kalinin and Beloyarskaya NPP and the introduction of the first stage of modernization of the group's firewall system, which protects the corporate network from cyber threats of various kinds, are also mentioned.

In terms of the hardware component of the NPP IT infrastructure, an important project was the introduction of a catastrophic metrocluster and other equipment, which allows, in case of failures, to quickly redistribute the load between computing capacities distributed across the sites of the group's data centers. In addition, they were put into pilot operation equipment complexes of typical data centers at Balakovskaya and Smolensk NPP.

At the Balakovo NPP in 2013, a pilot project of the information subsystem for support of qualifications for labor protection, operation, repair and safety was also developed and put into industrial operation.

The largest Russian nuclear power plant - Balakovskaya - became one of the two sites where the first standard data centers were launched

Within the EXPERT MSO-Uchet project last year the regular information exchange with participants of process of a construction of new blocks of the Rostov NPP (Rostov NPP, NIAEP, Atomtekhenergo) and the New Voronezh AES-2 (NvAES, Atomenergoproekt, Atomtekhenergo) was started. A prototype of an automated technical documentation management system was also developed and put into pilot operation in the central apparatus of the concern and at the Balakovo NPP.

In addition, a single data collection and consolidated reporting centre was established group, as well as detailed methodology of automatic reporting on maintenance and repair, ecology and economics of NPP.

An important point in Rosenergoatom is also called the implementation in 2013 of the service approach when concluding an agreement for the provision of integrated information and technical services. All ICT services consumed by the concern were analyzed and digitized, calculation and processing maps were formed, on the basis of which the initial cost of the contract was calculated. This approach allows not only to get a "picture" in terms of composition and cost current ICT services, but also flexibly manage the services consumed: significantly reduce costs and improve the quality of services, the company notes.
