Tass International — the Dutch software maker, intended for unmanned vehicles. Software of the company allows to model difficult scenarios of automobile traffic, to define capability of machines to independent driving in certain situations, to help drivers to manage the vehicle and to simulate road accident effects.
By the end of August, 2017 in Tass about 200 people work, and the annual turnover makes about 27 million euros.
2017: Siemens buys Tass International
On August 30, 2017 the German concern Siemens announced purchase of Tass International for the purpose of strengthening of the automobile business. The cost of the transaction does not reveal.
Tass International is the checked leader in the field of the integrated security and autonomous driving. These two areas become more and more important for the industry — the head of department of Siemens Smart Grid Jan Mrosik said. |
Siemens also announced plans to implement program developments of Tass in the products for simulation modeling and also in the systems of design of electronics from the purchased Mentor Graphics company.
Earlier Siemens declared plans to spend 1 billion euros for purchases of startups which will help concern to develop business in such areas as artificial intelligence and the decentralized electrification. The staff of corporation, startups and the developed companies having the perspective business ideas in areas which are strategically important for future Siemens can expect the allocated funds.[1]
Within these investments the next47 project aimed at the development of new technologies among which — artificial intelligence, unmanned vehicles, network solutions for mobile devices and a blockchain for safe data transmission and trade in energy resources was created.
