Lightwork Design — the British software developer for creation photorealistic 3D - images and virtual reality. The company proposes integrated solutions, applications and services for the different industries, including the jewelry and automobile industries, architecture, design of clothes and mechanical engineering.

Lightwork Design develops Iray+ technology which represents visualization tools, allowing to create high-quality images and the animation sequences with realistic materials, cameras and lighting.

History

2018: Siemens purchased Lightwork Design

In September, 2018 Siemens announced acquisition of Lightwork Design for the purpose of further development of 3D technologies - data visualizations.

Thanks to this transaction which financial component is not published Siemens intends to offer clients the improved instruments of visualization 3D-this, creation of photorealistic images and function of virtual reality within a full-function packet of 3D-applications on product lifecycle management (PLM).

Siemens purchased the developer of 3D technologies - visualization

Siemens planned entry of the products Lightwork Design into structure of the packet of PLM Components which includes a geometrical core of Parasolid, the modules D-Cubed and Kineo.

Siemens before began to use Lightwork Design technologies. In particular, they found application in a system automated 3D - design of Siemens NX. Thanks to merger of Lightwork Design of development of the company will be built in other solutions of the German industrial concern.

Consolidation of our Iray technology + and the systems of joint control of project solutions created by Siemens PLM Software in virtual reality will allow us to create world-class even more effective products for the machine-building industry — the head of Lightwork Design David Forrester said.[1]
