Avatar Integrated Systems - software developer for design automation of electronics. The company is based in Santa Clara (California) and calls behaving the producer of software for work in the field of Place-and-route (electronics development stage). Avatar helps engineers to optimize energy consumption, performance and the area (PPA) during the work with difficult chips, minimizing at the same time resources.

2020: Siemens purchased Avatar Integrated Systems
On July 16, 2020 Siemens announced agreement signature about acquisition of Avatar Integrated Systems. The financial component of the transaction of the company did not begin to be opened.
According to the press release, Siemens is going to integrate Avatar technology with a packet of Xcelerator which includes all automation systems of design-technology design of Siemens company with the environment of low-code product development Mendix. Also integration of Avatar into the Calibre platform, the software of Catapult HLS and Tessent is planned.
Within work with P&R, a stage in development of printed circuit boards, integrated microcircuits and FPGA, users first of all need to resolve two issues:
- Where to place all electronic components, schemes and logic gates in the total limited scope of space?
- What to do with routing which solves exact design of all wires necessary for connection of the placed components?
The technical director of Avatar Integrated Systems Ping of San Tseng considers that the technology of the company will allow developers to achieve the best results at accomplishment of tasks P&R. He also believes that being a partner of Siemens, Avatar will be able to develop further the approach and it is already not only about the sphere P&R, but also about Research and Development (R&D).
The products Avatar are constructed on technologies which were purchased by the company at ATopTech in 2017. The product line includes Aprisa (the tool for integrated circuit engineering taking into account the innovative technologies of a lithograph) and also Apogee (for prototyping and microcircuits assembly). It is expected that finally the deal of Siemens on acquisition of Avatar will be closed in the second half of 2020.[1]
