Compatibility with P-Virtualization and P-Storage
R-Platform LLC (Rosplatforma company) and OpenYard on January 15, 2025 announced the full compatibility of the hyperconverged platform based on R-Virtualization and R-Storage products, including software versions certified in FSTEC, with servers from the corporate OpenYard line.
Testing was carried out on RS201I and RS101I servers. The main functions were checked, including the initial deployment of P-Virtualization and P-Storage software, the addition of nodes to a hyper-converged cluster, the operation of processors, memory, IPMI, disk and network subsystems. Particular attention was paid to placing virtual machine files at different levels of the P-Storage software DSS (with SSD and NVMe disks) and testing their availability when modeling the failure of cluster hardware components.
Together with OpenYard, we will help our common partners create clear, manageable and inexpensive complexes for customers that are in no way inferior to large and expensive systems based on traditional "closed "DSS. A joint solution with OpenYard will allow customers, in turn, to reduce the cost of implementing virtualization and DSS tools, while maintaining the platform's fault tolerance, flexible scalability and high performance, said Sergey Chlek, Managing Director of Rosplatforma. |
The tests were carried out on five servers. OpenYard RS201I (2U) supports up to 24 SAS/SATA/NVME drives, is equipped with 2 x86 processors, 64 GB of RAM, an LSI 9560-16I controller, two 1.92 TB SSDs and two 10Gbe network interfaces. OpenYard RS101I (1U) supports up to 10 drives and has the same configuration of processors, memory, controller, disks and network interfaces.
All servers are equipped with RMB-MS93-FS0 motherboards and meet high quality standards established by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. The production of servers is carried out on the basis of its own production complex located in Ryazan.
For our company, forming technology alliances is a key priority in building a stack of infrastructure solutions. Successful compatibility testing of OpenYard hardware solutions and Rosplatforma software proves that close cooperation and partnership between manufacturers and developers is the key to high-quality and effective synergy leading to stable and reliable operation of a joint domestic solution among potential customers, "added Natalya Kurilina, OpenYard Developer Manager. |

The Open Development Center company, which produces servers under the OpenYard brand, announced on December 5, 2023 the start of mass production of equipment at its own plant, which is located on the territory of the Ryazansky technopark. The complex with a total area of over 8000 square meters. m provides full-cycle production in the amount of more than 60,000 units of server products per year. As of December 5, 2023, the site is operating in full load mode.
In November 2023, OpenYard received the status of an independent manufacturer. Despite the change in the ownership structure, OpenYard fully retained all the assets and resources necessary to support and further develop server solutions: intellectual property, an experienced team of engineers, unique developments in the OCP (Open Compute Project) architecture, as well as the production site of server equipment, which became the first commercial production on the territory of the Ryazansky Technopark.
"In 2023, we not only launched the serial production of OpenYard server equipment, but also expanded the team. The staff of the plant has already grown by 40% and will continue to grow due to interaction with Ryazan universities and vocational schools, and we are also actively developing a team-center R&D in. To Moscow Today, among our customers - large, Russian banks state companies, as well as popular. Over the Marketplaces past month, the OpenYard team has released and tested over 2,000 systems that are already being shipped to customers, according to the delivery schedule, "said OpenYard CEO Alexei Belogortsev. |
OpenYard's product portfolio includes two main lines: classic 19 'rack servers for data centers and high-performance OCP architecture servers. OpenYard products are included in the register of industrial products of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, which confirms the high degree of localization of production.
Completion of the enterprise construction
In early May 2023, it became known about the completion of the construction of an OpenYard server plant in Ryazan by Yandex, Lanit, Gigabyte and VTB. According to Maxim Koposov, director of Promobit, Yandex expects that new servers will be included in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Due to this, the company will be able to gain access to public procurement.
A source Kommersant in the electronic industry says that OpenYard equipment will be included in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, despite the manufacture of foreign components. He added that the company will release motherboards and conduct a large-node assembly of servers. This will allow you to score the required number of points to enter the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
According to another source, after debugging production, OpenYard will take about 10% of the market. Currently, more than half of server sales in Russia are accounted for by foreign manufacturers: Huawei, HP, Dell. Among domestic leaders are Yadro (about 15% of the market), Aquarius (10%) and Kraftway (7%).
The world's largest IT service operators traditionally develop their own equipment and microprocessors and control their production. This helps to effectively manage the infrastructure, explained Ivan Pokrovsky, executive director of the Association of Developers and Manufacturers of Electronics.
F + tech Chief Executive Officer Mikhail Volkov estimates the Russian server market at 80 billion rubles a year.
At the same time, the need for domestic products is still acute. The emergence of another player will spur competition, which will have a positive impact on the market and product quality, "he said in a conversation with the newspaper.[1] |
