Hackers announced the hacking of the Galaxy and the destruction of hundreds of TB of data. In the "Galaxy" the damage is refuted

The pro-Ukrainian hacker group Mare Head (Mare's Head) on January 11, 2024 announced on social network X that the information system of Galactica Corporation, a Russian developer of digital solutions used by many of the country's largest enterprises, was hacked by TAdviser. A screenshot of the VCenter management system was presented as evidence, but it is impossible to determine where it is located - inside the corporate infrastructure or at the provider.

The group claims that as a result of its actions, the source code of the software and the credentials for access were stolen. A link to Google.Drive has been published, where you can find the 6.6 GB ERP.Logistika-master.zip file and 6 more smaller files. True, the dates of their download are indicated by the service as September 1, 2023.

In addition, the hackers said that they allegedly destroyed "hundreds of TB of data, 390 virtual servers, workstations."

The average speed of the Galaxy's IT response to hacking is 10 days, the crackers said in their X post. - They spent so much time resuming. And they did not notice the continuation. It will be difficult for department programmers to find themselves in life.

Anton Malkov, chairman of the board of directors of Galactica Corporation, told TAdviser that the attack was carried out at the end of 2023 and was successfully repelled.

There is no damage to the company and customers, client and internal services work. We actively cooperate with the competent authorities of the Russian Federation. Preliminary results of the internal investigation do not exclude that the attack on our infrastructure was organized by the special services of Ukraine, - said Anton Malkov.

At the same time, on the morning of January 12, TAdviser discovered that the Galaxy site had not worked for some time, and instead of corporate content, a black background with the name of a hacker group was placed on it. On the eve of the group in the social network X wrote that this link will soon stop working. Later in the morning, the site was restored.

Recall that back in 2017, legal entities and leaders of the Galactica corporation were included in the sanctions list of Ukraine.

At the end of 2023, the Mare Head group in the social network X also announced the hacking of UralWagonZavod and the theft of 32 thousand documents from its information systems, as well as 857 thousand Russneft documents.

The group account was created in December 2023, it has 33 subscribers and 29 published posts. Previously, there were no reports of group activity.

Actor Stephen Seagal offers the company his investments

On November 23, 2016, it became known about the interest of actor Steven Seagal in buying a stake in the Galaxy after the famous actor received Russian citizenship.

Increased priority of the Open Source direction

In the summer of 2014, Galactica announced that it had increased the priority of work to support the compatibility of its products with Linux and PostgreSQL databases. As part of this step, the company confirmed that its products can function in the Astra Linux OS environment - the only distribution at the moment certified to work with information containing information constituting a state secret. The decision to increase the priority of the Open Source direction in the company is associated with the statement and accession to sanctions against a number of Russian companies, as well as the possible termination of support for products in Russia by American companies Microsoft, Oracle, Symantec and HP.

New specialized solutions

Galaxy Corporation organized the development of Ranet OLAP components with functionality that none of the other manufacturers had previously offered in the complex, thus, Ranet OLAP became one of the first SSAS solutions on the market on Microsoft Silverlight.

The new functionality was supplemented with a comprehensive solution for managing the maintenance and repair of equipment - "Galaxy Maintenance Management," the functionality of the solutions "Galaxy Management of the University" and "Galaxy Production Management" was significantly expanded.

In 2011, several specialized solutions of the corporation were released at once:

• "Automation of materials accounting using barcodes" - the solution is based on the use of two software products: the Galaktika ERP of system and MobileSmarts 2008 and allows you to use barcoding technologies when performing such warehouse accounting operations as: goods receipt at the warehouse, release to production, issuance of overalls from the warehouse, inventory, etc.

• Galaxy Mobile Trade Management is a specialized solution for managing assortment policy, sales and logistics at enterprises operating through a network of sales representatives. The solution allows you to quickly collect information about product balances at points of sale into a single database and automatically generate purchase orders for the required product range.

Galaxy EAM

In March 2011, it became known that Galactica, having felt the saturation of the market, decided to reorient itself to the development of applied solutions. As Galaxy President Nikolai Krasilov told CNews^[1]ERP remains the main product, but the company has already developed a solution for property management, and by ^[2] end of 2011 intends to release three more products: for enterprise asset management (EAM, enterprise asset management), projects (PM , project management) and project production.

The costs of creating the first simpler product, according to Krasilov, amounted to about $200 thousand, and the full development of the three remaining modules will cost the Galaxy about $1 million each. Of the 300 programmers employed by the company, about 100 (including analysts and testers) are working on new products as of March 2011.

An important feature of Galaxy applications is that they can be paired not only with its own software, but also with any competing ERP systems.

"If the customer already has the ERP system of SAP, Oracle or Microsoft, then with our main solution we are unlikely to be able to go to it, the choice has been made," Nikolai Krasilov explained to CNews. "But if at the same time the client is guided by best of breed solutions, then he may well recognize our module better than the corresponding components of his ERP, which will allow us to receive an order."

New products are developed on the XAF platform (eXpressApp Framework runtime, in turn, using Microsoft.NET) and use a set of classes that already existed in the "Galaktika ERP."

2010

New system capabilities and new customers

New opportunities for managing production, finance, logistics, logistics, personnel have been replenished with the main product of the corporation - the Galaktika ERP system. New innovative tools have appeared in the Galaxy BI decision support system. Special solutions were developed to manage R&D, projects, assets, real estate, transport, logistics, contracts, capital construction, repairs, etc. There are new solutions for project management and project production management.

Among the new clients of the corporation: the Mosfilm film concern, the Federal Postal Service of Russia, the Kaluga Telegraph Equipment Plant, a number of industry research institutes, HC Siberian Business Union, etc.

In 2010, the Customer Support Program was launched as well - a new form of interaction between the corporation and customers, in which the senior management of customer enterprises took part.

Participation in the new Galaxy program allowed the corporation's clients to more effectively use the IT solutions available in the enterprise's arsenal, overcome possible bottlenecks of automation projects, determine their prospects and identify hidden reserves for development.

In 2010, Galactica successfully passed inspection control for compliance with the ISO 9001 standard and confirmed compliance with this standard of the quality management system for design, development, implementation, technical support and maintenance of enterprise management software.

Galaxy SUIP, a new successful solution of Galactica Corporation, allows managing the investment program of long-term, medium-term and current planning of investment activities, collecting and consolidating indicators, generating reports on the implementation of the investment program of capital investments, R&D, investment measures.

2000-2009: Active development of the Galaktika ERP system

The new stage of the corporation's development starts in 2000 and ends in 2002. At that time, the functionality of the Galaxy system was significantly expanded. It includes tools for solving the full range of tasks related to financial management (financial planning, operational financial management and analysis, as well as consolidation of financial data). The system was then supplemented with functional modules for production control and production planning in accordance with the international standard MRP-II.

Starting in 2003, the corporation began developing a whole range of fundamentally new products. "Galaxy" has released a complex of business solutions "Galaxy Business Suite." The complex included such solutions as:

• Galaktika ERP system - automation of control at large and medium-sized enterprises (formerly Galaktika system);
• Galaxy Business Intelligence complex - support for management decisions in various areas of the company's activities;

It also creates consolidated reporting solutions, order lifecycle management, corporate finance, and more. Then comes a new version of "Galaktika ERP." By that time, its functionality had been tested at hundreds of domestic enterprises in real business practice. The updated system included improvements, was distinguished by expanded functionality (product quality management, real estate management) and technological innovations (three-level architecture, remote access capability). The number of customers of the corporation by that time reached 6,000.

In the rating "CNews100: The largest IT companies in Russia 2009," "Galaxy" takes 62nd place (a year earlier - 70). According to IDC, in 2009, Galactica accounted for 3.9% of total revenue in the Russian market for integrated enterprise management systems (ISUP). The company ranked fifth after SAP, 1C, Oracle and Microsoft.

In 2009, Galactica actively developed the main product - the Galaktika ERP system. New opportunities have appeared in solutions for production management, finance, logistics, logistics, personnel. New solution "Galaxy Management of the University"

The Galaxy University Management solution has been released on the market. Its distinctive feature is the support of the sectoral specifics of the educational sphere.

1995-2000: CIS "Galaxy" - the first solution of this class, created in Russia

Since 1995, a new stage in the company's activities begins, which will last until 2000. First of all, the period is characterized by the launch on the market of the complex information system "Galaxy," designed for complex enterprise management and implemented in the "client-server" architecture. This was the first solution of this class created in Russia. Initially, the system included 15 modules. Then the functionality of the system was expanded, and on its basis a number of industry solutions were created, including for such sectors as: oil and gas complex, communications and telecommunications, chemical, food industry, trade, timber industry. From 1995 to 1996, more than 18,000 licenses for the corporation's software products were sold. The demand for the Galaxy system was also high, and by 2000 the system was already used by over 4,800 enterprises. Due to the increase in the number of customers, new directions in the activities of the corporation were opened:

• training of users;
• implementation and technical support of the use of the Galaxy system.

By 1997, 2,000 customers had already become users of the Galaxy system.

1998 saw the corporation enter the market with industry solutions. In 1999, according to the results of IDC research, Galactica Corporation was named the leader among domestic developers of integrated enterprise management applications. The number of customers in different regions of the CIS reached 4000.

1987: Establishing a company

The corporation was established in 1987. In the period from 1987 to 1994. "Galaxy" was engaged in the implementation of control automation projects for mechanical engineering enterprises (Lutsk Plant "Thermometry," Mitinsky Experimental Plant "Rosavtospetsobochestvo," Kovrovsky Electromechanical Plant). With the help of information technologies, the tasks of accounting and warehouse accounting, technical preparation of production, human resources were solved.
