In early November 2024, it became known that the Russian infrastructure software developer PJSC Astra Group registered a new subsidiary, Protected Cloud JSC. The authorized capital of the new company amounted to ₽100 thousand, and was headed by the head of Astra Cloud Konstantin Anisimov.
According to Interfax, the creation of a new division corresponds to the group's overall strategy and is focused on the development of cloud services and technologies. The CEO of Astra Group stressed that all initiatives related to the new company are aimed at strengthening the position in the field of cloud solutions.
In the spring of 2024, Astra Group acquired an 80% stake in VDC Caravan LLC, which owned Rusonix, which was subsequently renamed Astra Cloud. VDC Karavan specializes in providing cloud IT infrastructure services, and Astra Cloud specializes in cloud infrastructure services for e-commerce and media projects.
The company's financial performance shows steady growth. In the first half of 2024, revenue amounted to ₽4,9 billion, an increase of 58% compared to the same period in 2023. EBITDA remained at ₽1,049 billion. Net profit reached ₽1,4 billion.
For the nine months of 2024, the volume of shipments of Astra Group increased by 98% and amounted to ₽10,1 billion. As part of the development of the cloud direction, the company, together with ICL Techno, has developed a software and hardware complex for building a private cloud.
The company's strategy provides for the expansion of the product ecosystem with a target - more than 50% of revenue should come from the products of the operating system ecosystem. PJSC Astra Group, formed in September 2023, owns fully or partially 22 IT companies in Russia and Belarus.[1]
