2025: Thoma Bravo bought Digital Aviation Solutions from Boeing for $11 billion
On November 3, 2025, the American manufacturer of aviation, space and military equipment Boeing announced the completion of a deal to sell part of the Digital Aviation Solutions division, which specializes in the development of digital solutions for aircraft. The buyer of assets worth $10.55 billion was the investment company Thomas Bravo.
It is noted that the agreement will allow Boeing to focus on the main business. The transaction is part of a strategy aimed at improving financial position and strengthening market positions.
The perimeter of the transaction, which was fully paid for with cash, included the assets of Jeppesen, ForeFlight, AerData and OzRunways. In particular, Jeppesen is one of the world leaders in the market for providing air navigation information. ForeFlight specializes in developing mission planning and control software. AerData provides software and services for managing the aircraft fleet. In turn, OzRunways develops tools for flight planning, flight planning and real-time navigation.
The Digital Aviation Solutions division employs approximately 3,900 employees globally, many of whom will move to Thoma Bravo. It is emphasized that after the deal, Boeing retained digital solutions for servicing, diagnosing and predicting the state of the air fleet.
| The deal will allow all teams in the digital division to focus on their strengths. Our goal is to meet the needs of customers, and we continue to develop key products and services to support our fleet of customers, "says Chris Raymond, President and CEO of Boeing Global Services.[1] |
