15 IT startups will receive co-financing from the Moscow Government to scale business in the Middle East
The Moscow Export Center, subordinate to the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the capital, and the GenerationS corporate innovation development platform summed up the results of the qualifying stage of the international acceleration program to increase export sales through local partners in the Middle East. The best companies received co-financing of participation from the Moscow Government in the amount of 90% of the cost. This became known on April 25, 2023.
For the first time, the Moscow Export Center is conducting an accelerator with the assistance of the international partner KAFADS: we are confident that this program to enter the MENA countries will allow capital companies to strengthen business ties with partners in this market, develop an effective export strategy with the support of foreign experts and, as a result, scale up business and sales in the Middle East, "said Vitaly Stepanov, head of the Moscow Export Center. |
In total, 15 projects were selected from the Internet of Things industry, IT developments in healthcare and the Smart City sphere. For example, Mainslab implements insurance software that helps identify overstates in medical bills and calculate damage in car accidents from photos. Orbsoft's document recognition programs are used in the digitization of government documents, and NVI Solutions is being introduced into various areas of production of artificial intelligence-based control and analytics systems. Manufacturers of modern fire extinguishing systems, a service for renting chargers for gadgets and other companies also take part in the accelerator.
One of the fastest and most effective ways to enter the MENA market is the participation of companies in the acceleration program, the main task of which is to implement export projects through local partners in the Middle East, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Partners of the MENA Accelerator program allow you to take into account the characteristics of the region at all stages of product launch on the market: from adapting the company's financial model to training the team to work in the Middle East region and the process of automating sales, which reduces risks in the implementation of the project, - said GenerationS Director Ekaterina Petrova. |
The program includes direct interaction with foreign partners from Saudi Arabia and the UAE: each team will be accompanied by several international experts. Some of them will help adapt a specific product to the specifics of the market and test hypotheses, and with the help of another coach, participants will be able to master new flexible thinking skills for negotiating and organizing the team. The list of experts is formed by the international partner of the acceleration program - the Middle East company KAFADS, which promotes companies in the markets of Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other countries in the region.
According to the results, entrepreneurs will be helped to find partners in MENA countries and expand the geography of their presence abroad. Under the guidance of experts, the companies will form an individual roadmap for exports to the Middle East and build a sales strategy, and then present the product to potential buyers. During the program, at least 10 meetings-presentations with foreign partners will be organized for each capital company. In addition, participants will have access to the "knowledge base" and best practices of startup founders and leading regional mentors.
The accelerator will focus on finding individual target markets and the exact choice of partners. The program will last 12 weeks.
