History
2021: Baring Vostok bought 16% Square-C
In early October 2012, it became known about the sale of 16% of Kvadrat-S to the Baring Vostok investment fund. Its participants did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction. According to Vedomosti, citing a source close to one of the parties to the transaction, we are talking about the amount of 2 billion rubles.
The newspaper cites data from the SPARK-Interfax system, according to which in mid-September 2021, the Cyprus company Oxalys Limited became the owner of a 16% stake in Square C LLC. It, in turn, belongs to Baring Vostok.
By the beginning of October 2021, the largest owner of the Kvadrat-S company is Ekaterina Vavilova, who owns 37.4%.
Kvadrat-S intends to spend the raised funds on expanding production capacities. By the beginning of October 2021, the company can produce about 50 million packages per year. With the launch of new production at the end of 2022, the company will be able to produce a similar volume.
Baring Vostok explained the purchase of Quadras-C by the growth of the Russian bio-additives market caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The Fund expects that in the future, Kvadrat-S products will be able to successfully replace expensive imported analogues.
According to DSM Group estimates, sales of these products in Russian pharmacies in 2020 increased by 17.1% compared to 2019 - up to 74.1 billion rubles. In 2021, restrictions on online trading of BAA were lifted, so in the future the growth rate will accelerate, said the head of the DSM Group Sergey Shulyak.[1]
