Renga Software, a joint venture between ASCON and 1C to develop BIM solutions. The company is engaged in the creation of a competitive domestic product for the design of buildings and structures in 3D, supporting BIM technology and the possibility of collective work at the level of model data, the development and promotion of the Renga product line: the existing architectural and construction system Renga Architecture, the system for designing the structural part of buildings/structures Renga Structure and promising solutions for the design of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, water supply and drainage systems, electricity supply.
Performance indicators
2024: Net loss of about 31 million rubles
As TAdviser discovered, Renga Software LLC, created as a joint venture between ASCON and 1C, continues to be unprofitable. Since its founding in 2016, it has never finished the year with a net profit. At the end of 2024, the company received a net loss of about 31 million rubles, which is 35.2% less than the loss a year earlier (it was 22.9 million rubles), according to data in the database of financial accounts of the Federal Tax Service. And revenue amounted to 79.7 million rubles, which is 4.5% less than in 2023.
In 2024, the company increased payments in connection with the remuneration of employees by 19.9%, to 39.2 million rubles. Management expenses increased by 7.1%, to 22.4 million rubles. Commercial expenses, on the contrary, decreased by 8.3%, to 16.9 million rubles.
Almost in parallel with the publication of financial results, the Renga BIM system celebrated 10 years since the first version was released. According to Renga Software as of March 2025, Renga uses more than 1.4 thousand enterprises to create its projects, and over 10 years the development team has released 60 releases and implemented about 700 functionality in the system.
Renga Software does not comment on its financial results and is ready to talk only about the situation in the market as a whole. Thus, the deputy general director of Renga Software Maxim Nechiporenko told TAdviser that in 2024 the movement towards the mandatory use of information modeling technologies (TIM/BIM) continued. This is facilitated by legislative initiatives: Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 331 and Resolution No. 614.
It is the decrees that create the basis for the transition of the construction industry to modern design mechanisms. After all, BIM increases the quality of technical decisions made, reduces errors in design and detailed design documentation, allows you to obtain reliable data when calculating the volumes of materials and works in order to obtain reliable estimates. But not all businesses, surprisingly, know and understand these benefits. So there is still a lot to be done to promote this technology to the masses, - notes Maxim Nechiporenko. |
At the same time, there are requirements for use, and there are no incentives or penalties. This reduces motivation, believes the deputy general director of Renga Software. But the key incentive and prospect, in his opinion, will be the transfer of "Дом.РФ" powers to approve digital information models on a par with the project declaration in the UISZhS information system .
The company also points out that the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation, which had previously shifted its focus to as-built documentation and project management system (PMS), has again intensified work on information modeling in the state order since mid-2024. This indicates the gradual integration of new standards, although the process is still far from total implementation, says Maxim Nechiporenko.
In 2024, the relevant ministry held management meetings, within the framework of which pilot projects on the creation of information models in domestic software, in which Renga Software participates, were resumed. In parallel, the topic of forming digital quantities of work based on such models has been updated. These steps demonstrate the consistent, albeit unspoken, implementation of BIM technologies in design and construction. A number of regions have already begun to implement pilot projects using Renga Software solutions. Maxim Nechiporenko also notes the beginning of public discussions of the document with the requirements for the composition of digital information models, which were not previously prepared.
Although not fast, the transition to BIM technologies continues. According to Дом.РФ, in 2023, about 15 − 20% of developers used BIM in one way or another, and by the end of 2024 this figure was already 30%. There is also a gradual transition of users to Russian solutions, they say in Renga Software.
One of the factors hindering the transition to Russian BIM solutions was previously called a lack of money in the industry[1]. APRR "Fatherland Software" against this background at the end of 2024 even proposed to the Ministry of Construction to introduce compensation for part of the costs of builders for the purchase of Russian BIM software. According to her, 60-80% of companies now use Western solutions in the industry.
One of the most commonly used solutions for construction companies remains Autodesk Revit. In the PIK group, the largest developer in Russia, for example, they previously told TAdviser that they will continue to use it and are not yet ready to switch to Russian software: "Russian vendors are now overgrown with customers who are import substitutes, and their solutions are developing, but if we move right now, then the pace of design will slow down."
Renga Software, however, provides examples of successful implementation of projects on Russian software. For example, one of the leading developers, Setl Group holding, whose design division (Setl City Architectural Bureau) has fully completed the project of a multi-storey multi-section residential building, including the release of working documentation from a comprehensive BIM model created in Renga Professional. There are other examples from different regions: YugProektKuban (YugStroyInvest Group of Companies), KS-Development, Specialized developer Transyuzhstroy, etc.
Products
One of the ambitious tasks of the company is to promote the penetration of BIM technology into Russia and neighboring countries so that the design of all civil and industrial construction facilities begins with the creation of an information model. At the same time, the labor intensity of the process would not be higher than the development of projects using two-dimensional drawing.
Renga Software products are designed for integrated design: the information model of the construction object created in the Renga system can be used at other stages of the life cycle.
History
2020: Participation in the pilot to pass the Russian software of the state examination in the information model
On February 10, 2020, FAA FCS reported that a pilot project for passing a state examination in an information model proved the competitiveness of Russian software. The pilot project was attended by the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia, the Moscow State Expertise, St. Petersburg State Institution "Center for State Expertise," GAU SO "Department of State Expertise." Participants from development groups are specialists from NEOLANT, Renga Software, SiSoft Development. Read more here.
2017: Autodesk Developer Network
At the beginning of the year, Autodesk and Renga Software entered into an agreement to ensure that their information modeling (BIM) solutions work together. The purpose of the agreement is to provide an opportunity for Russian companies using information modeling to establish interaction between all project participants, even if they use software products from different manufacturers.
Under the agreement, Renga Software will become a partner of the Autodesk Developer Network and access the Autodesk product API. Thus, Renga Software will be able to provide interaction between software products and work out various scenarios and data exchange formats.
"Not a single modern company, choosing the software necessary for work, fixates on some specific IT brand - this is simply irrational. In these conditions, for the customer developing his IT park, and for software developers, on whose solutions all business processes are built, the priority is the task of working out the correct interaction of software products, - said Shuvalov Evgeny, CEO of Renga Software. - The goal of our partnership with Autodesk is to work together to ensure the interaction of our systems, including through the ability to read and write models in.ifc format. At the same time, despite the gradual transition to information modeling, design organizations prevail and work with drawings will prevail for a long time. So we work out the combination of our solutions with Autodesk products through the.dxf format, and in the April release of Renga, support for the.dwg format will be implemented. Together, these measures are aimed at making the interaction of designers working in different systems easier and more convenient. "In
October 2016, Renga Software employed only 28 people. Enlargement of the team contributed moving to a more spacious office - Smolensky Business Center with its own conference room for presentations and events for clients.
Renga Software began to use the capabilities of both parent companies ASCON and 1C, and this has a positive effect on all aspects of its activities. All products created by the company are integrated with the company's estimate system 1C"" and the software product 1C:ERP Construction Organization Management 2"."
2016: Building a Company
September 26, 2016 it became known about the creation of a joint venture (JV) of a manufacturer of a business software 1C and St. Petersburg developer. ON "Ascon" A company called Renga Software will develop and promote the same name. Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
The creation of Renga Software was reported to the Kommersant newspaper by Ascon and confirmed in 1C. The latter will allocate investments for the joint venture and provide resources for joint development, marketing and distribution, and the partner will contribute intellectual property (rights to Renga software products) and human resources (development team).
Renga Software was headed by Evgeny Shuvalov, former director of ASCON partners. The shares of the founders of the joint venture in this business will be equal. The volume of financial investments in the project is not called.
Ascon has been developing the Renga system since 2012. The first version of the program was released in 2015, at the same time the search for an investor began.
The need to attract an investor is due to the vision that the release time of the product in modern market conditions should be significantly reduced. With 1C, we coincided in assessing the market prospects, - said Alexander Golikov, chairman of the board of directors of Ascona. |
Kommersant notes that one of the main competitors of Renga Software is the American Autodesk, which, due to sanctions, cannot supply software to a number of large construction enterprises, including, for example, contractors for the construction of the Kerch bridge.
The head of Autodesk CISAnastasia Morozova told the publication that the company is happy to compete and will wait for a new solution, "especially if it is finally something unique, ahead of competitors, and not catching up with them."[2]
