Torc Robotics — software developer and the equipment for the unmanned vehicles intended for commercial, industrial and military use. One of the main partners of Torc Robotics is the Transdev transport company for creation of pilotless buses. The startup is founded in 2005 by group of engineers of Polytechnical institute and the state University of Virginia. The headquarters of Torc Robotics is in the American Bleksburg, the State of Virginia.

The Mercedes trucks went on public roads
At the beginning of September, 2019 Daimler concern which releases cars under the name of Mercedes-Benz and Torc Robotics company there began tests of the automated trucks with SAE Level 4 technology on public roads. Daimler was purchased by Torc Robotics
At the end of March, 2019 the Daimler Trucks company, the world's largest producer of trucks (a brand of Mercedes-Benz), announced acquisition of a controlling stake of Torc Robotics. Within the transaction which cost was not disclosed, it is going to develop self-driving trucks of the fourth level.
The companies stated what on a result of the transaction of Torc Robotics will work in close cooperation with Daimler Trucks developers to enter the market of freight transportation. At the same time the company reserves the name Torc Robotics, all former command and opportunities for new transactions.
According to representatives of Daimler Trucks company, the bargain was concluded within the Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 program provided in 2014. The program is directed to creation of completely autonomous "transport system of the future". The CEO of Daimler Trucks in North America Roger Nielsen noted that Torc is not a startup, but one of the most experienced companies in the world on development of pilotless vehicles.
Daimler Trucks involves practical approach of Torc Robotics to commercialization of developments, their front lines ready to implementation of technology and also long-term experience with cargo vehicles. The German concern develops pilotless trucks in which will find applications for technology of the purchased company.[1]
