Crimeatechnologies: Dialog M

In the Republic of Crimea in the spring of 2018 there was the messenger which will be able to become an alternative to the Telegram service blocked by the Russian regulators.

According to local media, the Dialog M appendix has all functions, necessary for the messenger: transfer of messages, files and creation of groups for communication. New service was developed by Crimeatechnologies state company. What is characteristic, Dialog M, as well as Telegram, promises users confidentiality at communication.

"Dialog M" works in the test mode: now the browser version and the application is available to the Android platform. On devices of Apple the messenger is not established yet.

It should be noted that, in addition to Telegram, the Dialog M system should compete at least with WhatsApp and Viber. According to the experts, the share of the first messenger in Russia exceeds 50%, and the second – 35%. Telegram so far only on the third place – at it is about 20%.

The user of the TJournal portal Artem Legotin detected the vulnerability allowing to crack with ease any account in the application in the Dialog M messenger developed by the Crimean state company "Crimeatechnologies". According to Legotin, the problem exists in the system of authorization of the browser version of the messenger. In particular, when entering any number on the page of authorization a system suggests to enter the four-digit code which should come in the Sms. At the same time the code can be picked up with ease by a search method. Having exploited this vulnerability, by simple manipulations with the source code it is possible to crack an account practically of any user of the messenger, Legotin noted ^[1].
