2022: Development of satellite Internet system in Russia
In mid-November 2022, the company SR Space announced the creation of the SR NET satellite system, which, according to the developers, should become the first private Russian analogue. the American Starlink
{{quote 'Now there is an objective need to distribute broadband satellite internet. It is necessary for different areas of application: for individuals who are in different hard-to-reach regions, unmanned aerial vehicles, their control and various other purposes. Now the task is to create such a grouping precisely for the goals and tasks within Russia, "Oleg Mansurov, founder and general director of SR Space, told TASS. }}
According to him, the first launch of the SR NET spacecraft is planned in 2024. The satellite will be equipped with six flat phased array antennas and a transceiving parabolic antenna for communication in the Ka and Ku bands, it will have a bandwidth of 40 Gbps. The device weighing 460 kilograms is planned to be launched into orbit about 600 kilometers high.
According to SR Space, one of the company's key projects is to provide global satellite broadband to provide Internet of Things service and Internet access to various categories of consumers. Users of the new space system of high-speed broadband Internet access will be able to become primarily telecom operators and providers, as well as various organizations in the field of providing the Internet of Things service.
The SR NET service can be in demand in various sectors of the economy and applied in organizations in the field of oil and gas production, geological exploration and intellectual agriculture, in the transport monitoring service, the company said.[1]
