Plans of expansion of production of prismatic Li-ion batteries
The Prime Planet Energy & Solutions company organized the Japanese by corporations Panasonic and Toyota Motor intends to expand production prismatic Li-ion batteries for hybrid cars. It became known on October 8, 2020. It is for this purpose going to construct a production line within the existing Panasonic enterprise in the prefecture Tokushima in the West Japan. After an exit at full capacity production will be able to provide accumulators up to 500,000 cars - "hybrids" annually.
Electrification of cars became one of priority tasks in the conditions of global concern in environmental problems - warming of climate and air pollution. The world market of electric vehicles continues to grow. The increased operating capacity will allow Panasonic and Toyota Motor joint venture to cope with the growing demand for prismatic li-ion cells for hybrid cars.

For the first time declared a possibility of similar business integration of the party almost a year ago – on January 22, 2019. Now key parts became known.
A consensus of the parties that accumulators as a power source for cars and other means of transport, will purchase the increasing role in development of society and improvement of life of people became premises to creation of the company.
The Toyota joint venture and Panasonic will be engaged in development competitive, highly effective (from the point of view, capacity, power, service life and so forth), safe and reliable accumulators. They will be delivered on the Toyota autoenterprises and any other customers.
