The Oracle corporation announced in the summer of 2012 conclusion of an agreement about acquisition of all capital assets of Skire company, the supplier of business applications for management of capital spending plans (Capital Program Management) and infrastructure of the enterprise (Facilities Management) which can be unrolled as in environments of cloud computing, and directly at the enterprises of customers. Terms of agreement about acquisition are not disclosed.

The software of Skire provides a full range of management tools and control for all stages of project implementation — from planning and accomplishment before operation, allowing the companies to manage effectively capital spending plans and construction projects, says Oracle.

Having integrated Skire technologies with opportunities of the products Oracle Primavera, Oracle is going to create the platform of management of complete lifecycle of project portfolios (Enterprise Project Portfolio Management, EPPM) which provides the comprehensive solution covering all processes — from planning of programs of capital investment and construction projects before operation and maintenance — and intended for owners and operators, contractors and subcontractors.

As envisioned by Oracle, consolidation of opportunities will help the organizations to manage projects with bigger predictability and more strict financial control that, in turn, will promote growth of profitability and operational efficiency.
