The Oracle corporation announced in the summer of 2012 agreement signature about acquisition of Xsigo Systems company, solution provider of network virtualization. Financial terms of transaction do not reveal.
According to John Fowler (John Fowler), the executive vice president of Oracle for the Systems direction, the solutions Xsigo allow clients to reduce complexity and to simplify management of "clouds", quickly providing necessary computing, network resources and resources of storages which can be dynamically redistributed on demand.
"Clients are focused on cost reduction and increase in efficiency of use of the networks — Lloyd Carney, the chief executive of Xsigo noted. — Virtualization allows to scale computing powers and tanks of storage for public and private "clouds", at the same time dynamically changing network transmission capacity according to requirements".
By calculations of corporation, the combination of technologies of network virtualization from Xsigo and Oracle VM for virtualization of servers will allow to propose to the companies the most complete solution on virtualization for cloud environments.
As expected, the transaction of Oracle — Xsigo will be closed in the fall of 2012 after accomplishment of usual conditions of the conclusion of similar transactions and also its approval from regulating authorities.
