2015: New Symantec Secure One program
On September 1, 2015 Symantec announced the new affiliate program under the name Symantec Secure One. It is announced three weeks later after the company announced sale of business on release of software for data management and focused on the information security (IS). This business accent found reflection in the provided program.
Symantec sent to partners the letter signed by the executive vice president for global sales Adrian Jones, the senior vice president for global sales John Thompson and the vice president for the American sales channel Stephen Thomas. In this notification devoted to start of Symantec Secure One the following is told:
"We address you on behalf of new Symantec which became more collected, very in love with the case both devoted to security technologies and our partners. The forthcoming innovations which we entered in the affiliate program will help you to prosper in the fast-growing cybersecurity market".
The new program includes three levels ("platinum", "gold" and "silver") and two directions (system integration and distribution). Symantec reported that partners will be able to receive more simply the "platinum" status as the producer removed requirements to technical suitability and competence and also limited certified requirements to registration of transactions and increase in skill level, transfers the CRN edition.
Within the announced affiliate program the new incentive plan Growth Accelerator Rebate which assumes receiving an additional fee at accomplishment of the plan for 80% will work. Those companies which reach target indicators for 99% and exceed them for 150%, can expect an increase of remunerations for 2% and 6% respectively.
At the time of the publication of material in the Russian representative office of Symantec could not respond to the request TAdviser about when the new affiliate program begins work in the Russian Federation.[1]
2014
The Symantec corporation submitted in May, 2014 at the annual Vision 2014 conference the updated affiliate program which will officially become effective since October, 2014.
Within the provided affiliate program of Symantec announces 12 technology competences. New competences provide different levels of qualifications of partners – Principal and Expert – and also provide to partners the choice: deepen the knowledge within some one direction or be engaged in studying new, thereby expanding the solution portfolio, offered customers. Receiving technology competences of Symantec, partners show the professionalism, experience and knowledge of products of Symantec which are necessary for successful implementation of requirements of corporate clients.
The company also increases investments into partners. Since October, 2014 access to additional financial benefits, depending on their skills, indicators of sales and success of project implementation will be provided to partners. Within the new affiliate program partners will be able to earn more financial rewards and business benefits:
- Thanks to the advanced program of registration of opportunities (Opportunity Registration Program) partners will be able to receive additional ribeyta which size will be considerably increased in comparison with conditions of the current affiliate program, for successful project implementation. This option will be available to partners who have competences of the Principal or Expert level and actively are engaged in search and implementation of opportunities for increase in sales volumes corresponding
- The possibility of participation in the new ribeytny Growth Accelerator Rebate program (ribeyt for business development) will be also available to the partners who received competence of the Expert level within which partners in addition will be able to receive ribeyt for accomplishment of in advance approved sales plan;
- The new Renewals Performance Incentive program (the program of encouragement of prolongation of support) within which it is also provided to the partners who are implementing the approved plan for the number of prolongation of support and having competence Expert according to one or more solutions corresponding ribeyt;
- The partners having competence Expert according to one and more solutions in addition will be able to submit the application for receiving special fund – Development Funds (fund In addition to financial advantages, all partners will get access to broader spectrum of the training programs, a number of the additional resources directed to increase in efficiency of sales and also to new instruments of marketing and technical support.
These tools are created to help partners to increase the speed of customer acquisition and consumer demand, to accelerate a sales cycle and to make them more productive.
The partners investing in obtaining competences of the Expert level at least on one of solutions will also be able to get access to specialized status reports on the market (Market "Now We Enter a Transient Period during Which Our Partners Will Be Able to Examine and Estimate in Details the New Conditions, Requirements and Advantages Connected with Change of the Affiliate Program" — the partnership director of Symantec in Russia Alexander Rozhkov noted – "We, in turn, will give full support to our partners to help them to implement fully all advantages of new, more profitable partnership with Symantec".
During the transient period partners will be able to define the technology directions in which they would like to develop, estimate necessary investments according to requirements to new competences and to develop the plan of further development of mutually advantageous partnership with Symantec company. Partners can also visit the updated partner PartnerNet portal where it is possible to study the last information concerning the affiliate program and also to learn about the next web broadcastings, trainings and seminars on this subject.
