Creation of the largest logistics hub for $140 million in Uzbekistan

Wildberries announced the construction of a novologistic center in Uzbekistan. By the beginning of October 2021, more than 2.3 million orders are issued on the Wildberries website every day. "Today, warehouses for marketplaces are built mainly according to the built-to-suit scheme, when the construction contractor builds a box for the needs of the company, and then it rents the built object," explains a top manager of a large marketplace. "As a result, the company has operating rental costs and lacks capex (the company's capital for the acquisition and modernization of physical assets), which allows not to take into account the construction costs, hence, probably, low estimates." The cost of equipment - conveyors, a sorter, car packers, and so on - depends on the level of automation, which, according to the interlocutor, Wildberries is not as high as, for example, Ozon.

The Bell interlocutor from a large marketplace described the economics of the order point (PVZ) as follows: launch costs, which usually include paying rent for the first month, repairing the premises, decorating it and buying equipment, range from 150 to 500 thousand rubles, then there are operating costs, that is, payroll, subsequent rent and administrative costs, such as consumables. The total amount of expenses depends on the location, in large cities in the center it reaches several million rubles, said an interlocutor from another marketplace. Thus, Wildberries' investments in the launch of a network of 7.5 thousand PVZs alone were supposed to amount to at least 1.5-2 billion rubles, could reach 4-5 billion rubles, and several billion more required their maintenance. Wildberries refused to name the cost of launching one PVZ, saying only that they are at an acceptable level for the company.
