Southern electric networks

History

The foundation for the Irkutsk power supply system was laid by the LEP-110 which connected New Lenino's substation with CHPP-1, i.e. integrated two power sources: rather recently constructed for needs of CHPP-1 petroplant and CHPP-2, there are a lot of years feeding with the electric power and heat Irkutsk, together with CHPP IZTM.

Management of high-voltage networks - UVVES was born in February, 1955. Already to the middle of 1955 the first four substations were accepted in operation, the main departments, technical services are created.

Substation the Southern and adjacent territory became the center around which also the production base and the residential district "Youzhny" began to form afterwards. In 1961 management occupied the, specially built up building where is and until now.

Since August, 1955 young specialists from higher education institutions of Moscow, Kiev, Kharkiv, Kuibyshev, Ivanova and so forth began to come to the enterprise for distribution. The attention of specialists from Mosenergo, ORGRESA was riveted on the young developing power supply system. Everything was new, everything was for the first time - new technology, the new equipment, new materials, new types of isolation, new tension - 200 kV, and then and 500 kV.

The first operated substations, including Southern and many power transmission lines - 35, 110, 220 kV were executed on wooden support and portals. Gradually substations and lines were reconstructed with replacement of wooden constructions by metal and steel concrete, and suspended porcelain isolation was replaced with glass.

Stages of development of the electric networks:

• Electrification of VSZhD on section Irkutsk-Slyudyanka is 1955.
• Power supply of construction of Brotherly hydroelectric power station on voltage of 220 kV - 1957.
• Construction of VL - 500 kV Kamala-Taishet (worked at U=220kB) - is ended 1961.
• Commissioning of VL - 500 kV Irkutsk-Bratsk - 1961-1962.
• Commissioning of VL - 500 kV Bratsk-Taishet - 1966.
• Commissioning of VL - 110 kV providing e/e draft of VSZhD of-1957-1961.
• Commissioning of transit of 220 kV Irkutsk-Ulan-Ude is 1963.
• Commissioning of VL - 500 kV (on voltage of 220 kV) Irkutsk - Gusinoozerskaya GRES - 1993.

Now the Southern electric networks provide reliable and uninterrupted operation of the electric networks on a considerable part of the Irkutsk region: Irkutsk, Irkutsk, a part Angarsk, Shelekhovsky and Slyudyanka districts to the river Snow.

The southern electric networks are engaged in conversion, distribution and transfer of electrical energy and also operation of the electric networks in the southern areas of the Irkutsk region. 472 persons work at the enterprise.

The organization structure of the enterprise is under construction on the territorial control circuit at which all objects of the electric networks are assigned to sections of the district electric networks (DEN) servicing buildings, constructions and the equipment of step-down substations, transmission lines and distribution networks of all tension of the area.

The southern electric networks have three areas of networks:

• Baikal distribution zone;
• Right-bank distribution zone;
• Left-bank distribution zone.

Annual production of the Southern electric networks (electric power transmission) makes 12888298 thousand kWh that in conventional units 36404 equals.
