2023: Creation of Norsoft

On December 18, 2023, Nornickel presented progress on projects at the Metallurg IC and a brand for its products.

Industrial competence centers in key industries economies ones were created on behalf of the Prime Minister RUSSIAN FEDERATION Mikhail Mishustin to replace foreign IT solutions and develop new digital products for Russian business needs.

Nornickel took responsibility for 3 key mining projects at Metallurg. GGIS - Mining and Geological Information System. GP - mining planning. DGR - dispatching of underground mining operations.

For their implementation, a separate IT company Norsoft was created, the work started in January 2023. The approach to development was based on close interaction with co-customers and site experts, joint testing of prototypes and continuous collection of feedback for product improvement and development. At the final demo day of 2023, the Norsoft team demonstrated "live" products and discussed further plans with the participants.

In my opinion, progress is very significant. In a year we were able to make the base on which you can develop a good product. If we turn to the systems that we used before, most of them have a history of 20-30 years of creation. We don't boast that we've done 20 years of work in a year. It's just not possible. We can show that we have done the basics that are in all these systems, but we have done it in just a year. I consider the progress colossal. What we showed today, and how colleagues reacted to it, demonstrates that we have already taken a good step, commented Mikhail Stolyarov, head of complex and specialized projects "Norsoft."

Norsoft also presented a brand for all three products - MAGMA.

MAGMA, firstly, is what is born in fire, the birth of something positive and important. It is no secret that most of the metals and valuable elements mined by the mining industry are of magmatic origin. And we had the task of making some kind of association. On the one hand, this is a fusion of experience, talents, expertise of mining developers, geologists and IT specialists. On the other hand, an association with the mining industry. The second story - we needed an idea for the product line. Each individual product will be called MAGMA Geo, MAGMA Plan, MAGMA Control. New ones can be added to this line. After all, these are interconnected products. And there is a hidden sense that anything can be sculpted from magma. After all, we are open to the market. There will be an open API, and all market teams, startups will be able to refine the functionality through this API, thereby enriching it, told the general director of Norsoft Alexey Parasyna.
