2023: Building a Company
Tinkoff created a leasing company, which became known on April 13, 2023. The new legal entity was called "T-leasing."
According to TASS, citing data from the SPARK-Interfax system, TCS Group, the head structure of Tinkoff Bank, registered T-Leasing with an authorized capital of 100 million rubles. The company is owned by T-Projects LLC. The general director of Tinkoff Projects is Aleksei Kuznetsov. 99% of T-projects belong to TCS Group and 1% to Tinkoff Bank. At the same time, Alexander Mikhailov, the former head of the Europlan leasing company, has been appointed General Director of T-Leasing, the news agency points out.
The fact that Tinkoff Bank plans to begin developing the leasing direction, which should be headed by Alexander Mikhailov, Frank Media, citing sources, wrote in mid-January 2023. Then the possibility of developing on the basis of a group of "leasing business without offices" was discussed, one of the top managers' acquaintances argued.
As Frank Media notes at the beginning of 2023, only two backbone banks did not have their own leasing company - the Moscow Credit Bank (MKB, the credit institution sold its leasing company to the Region group close to it in 2018) and Tinkoff Bank. At the same time, the latter, unlike the former, never entered the leasing market, offering only car loans to its clients until recently.
According to forecasts of analysts of the Expert RA agency, the volume of the new passenger car leasing business in 2023 may grow by 8% compared to the previous year. The NRA is more optimistic and expects growth in this segment by 15%. It is the retail leasing segment that may await recovery in 2023, analysts at rating agencies predict. But it will be limited on the supply side.[1]
