2024: Establishing a Company

The Russian company "" Yandex on December 16, 2024 established a new legal entity LLC Robodostavka with an authorized capital of ₽10 thousand for the development of an autonomous cargo delivery service. 99% of the company belongs to LLC Technoyak"," 1% - LLC "Intersurch Solutions."

According to Vedomosti, Marat Mavlyutov, who previously headed Smart Home at Yandex, was appointed the head of the new company.

Yevgeny Dudorov, chairman of the board of the Robotics Consortium, stressed that about 1.5 million couriers work in Russia, and even if robots replace 20% of them, 300 thousand machines will be required.

According to a joint study by hh.ru and PEC, the average salary of couriers since the beginning of 2024 has grown by 15% and reached ₽115,6 thousand per month, which exceeds the salary of many specialists. The number of vacancies in this area increased by 36%, while the number of applicants decreased by 9%.

Yandex began developing unmanned vehicles in 2017, and in December 2020 began testing delivery robots in Moscow and Innopolis. In the summer of 2023, the company launched a robotaxi service in one of the districts of Moscow.

According to analysts at Fortune Business Insights, the global robo-supply market will reach $398.6 million in 2024, and will grow to $3.2 billion by 2032. Alisa Konyukhovskaya, the creator of PRO Robots, notes that investments in the purchase of robots are becoming more and more profitable amid growing demand for delivery services.

NTI Up Great technology competition development director Yury Molodykh suggests that in the future Yandex may begin to provide a fleet of delivery robots as a service to other companies, including direct competitors in the delivery market.[1]
