2023: Building a Company

Rosbank created its own collection agency, which became known at the end of December 2023. The subsidiary of the bank was called RB Collective.

Rosbank, in a conversation with Kommersant, noted that the creation of the agency did not require significant investments, since it will continue to use the bank's IT infrastructure.

RB Collective will focus on providing collection services under an agency scheme with a focus on auto and consumer lending, leasing, as well as the receivable market, "said Yevgeny Senkovsky, director of the overdue debt department.

Currently, the cession market seems to us to be "overheated" in terms of the price of portfolios with a payback period of five to seven years and a high regulatory risk, which can limit the attractiveness of cess portfolios for a long period of time, - said Senkovsky at the end of December 2023 and added that in 2024, changes in strategy and purchases of several portfolios are not excluded.

The source of the publication in the industry admitted that the creation of its own collection agency is associated with the bank's desire to increase the efficiency of the settlement. At the same time, other interlocutors doubted that this would become a trend in the market. Sources of the newspaper in banks spoke about the lack of plans to launch their own collection agencies. According to them, this area has no business prospects, while it is accompanied by high reputational risks.

The National Association of Professional Collection Agencies (NAPKA) said that the entry into the market of a new player suggests that specialized regulation creates conditions for a more active development of the collection segment. In February 2024, changes will come into force, according to which creditors will be able to recover only their own delay, reminds Kommersant[1]
