2021: Investing $100 million in Russian-language startups

In early November 2021, Leta Capital announced the start of the investment period of its third fund - Leta Capital Fund III. Its volume is $100 million, funds will be received by Russian-speaking startups around the world. Requirements for applicants are as follows:

• are in growth stages A or B;
• with international revenue of $50 thousand per month;
• show a twofold increase from year to year;
• raise $2-5 million.

Leta Capital invests $100 million in Russian-language startups

As Leta Capital partner Alexander Chachava wrote on his blog, the new one will work in 2029, of which three years will be spent on investments, and five years on management.

Leta Capital invests in Russian-speaking technology entrepreneurs building a global business. We prefer to invest in promising startups with a sustainable business model and high margin. The methodology for searching for such companies has been developed by us for more than 5 years, "said Chachava.

According to the strategy, 60% of investments are planned to be provided to startups with a B2B-software product, 30% to B2C-software, 10% to innovations abroad. In the interests of the fund are IT solutions for various sectors, based on deep R&D, mainly in the field of B2B, which can make the existing market more efficient or fundamentally change it, for example, business analytics, big data analysis, AI technologies, process optimization and automation, business robotization (logistics, manufacturing, etc.).

According to KPMG, which is cited by Alexander Chachava, it is B2B services that will show a significant increase in attracted investments in the future. The focus may change depending on trends, but the approach remains unchanged, he added. Leta Capital plans to lead the transactions (invest more other investors in startups in one round of financing), leaving 25-50% of the round for co-investors.^[1]
