The Rusal company has put into operation a new production of aluminum food containers at the facilities of the Rusal-Sayanskaya Foil enterprise in the Dmitrovsky City District of the Moscow Region. The volume of investments in the project exceeded ₽1,2 billion. The launched production line is capable of processing 1200 tons of aluminum foil annually, which ensures the production of 185 million units of finished products. This became known on July 16, 2025.

According to TASS, citing the press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region Ekaterina Zinovieva noted the scale of the investment project. Currently, the company produces ten varieties of containers with the possibility of further expansion of the assortment line.

Rusal launched a plant for the production of aluminum food containers for ₽1,2 billion, which are fully recyclable and can be used in microwaves

According to the press service of Rusal, over the period 2023-2025, the need of the Russian market for aluminum food containers increased by about 40%. At the same time, the industry is experiencing a shortage of high-quality products of this category. Own production will allow the company to optimize costs and guarantee stable characteristics of manufactured products.

It is planned that some of the containers produced will be sent to federal retail chains, which should contribute to the wider distribution of aluminum packaging among end consumers. Company representatives emphasize the advantages of new products over alternative materials.

Aluminum containers have chemical inertia to food products, which eliminates the possibility of undesirable reactions when in contact with food. The products meet safety requirements for human health and meet environmental standards due to the possibility of 100% processing.[1]
