Udokan Copper LLC (formerly Baikal Mining Company) was created to implement a project for the development of the Udokan copper deposit. The company owns the right to use subsoil for the production of copper and associated components, solves the task of creating a copper production with a high stable yield, minimal negative environmental and social impact, while respecting the interests of all interested parties.

History

2020: Assets

As of January 2020, the Udokan copper deposit with resources of over 26 million tons of copper is the largest copper deposit in Russia and one of the largest in the world. The field is located in the Kalarsky district of the Trans-Baikal Territory, 30 km from the Novaya Chara station of the Baikal-Amur Railway.

2019: Collaboration with IKS Holding to create the Center for Innovation in Chita

On June 7, 2019, it became known that IKS Holding and the Baikal Mining Company will create the Center for Innovation in Chita.

The corresponding agreement was signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Baikal Mining Company Valery Kazikaev, the head of the IKS Holding Anton Cherepennikov, as well as the acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Trans-Baikal Territory for Investment Development Mikhail Churkin.

The innovation center will be created with the support of the government of the Trans-Baikal Territory. His work will be aimed at providing the region with IT specialists, introducing various models of education in the Trans-Baikal Territory, forming a system for training young talents, including the application of the best practices of basic and additional education.
