MegaFon buys Sinterra together with Peterstar

PeterStar and MegaFon are integrated by resources of the companies with the purpose to offer clients a full range of services of the fixed and mobile communication and also to increase service quality. Consolidation happens in the course of the company merger which began after purchase of 100% of stocks of the Synterra group by MegaFon which includes PeterStar.

At this time the company services more than 100 thousand telephone lines and occupies a considerable market share of business telephony among alternative telecom operators.

The transport network of PeterStar is one of the largest in St. Petersburg on the extent of optical fiber cables - more than 5000 km. The general investments into a transport network of PeterStar made more than $170 million since the beginning of 1992.

Among clients there is PeterStar: Central Bank of Russian Federation, Sberbank of the Russian Federation, Vneshtorgbank, Grand Hotel Europe, Radisson SAS Hotel, Pulkovo Airline and many others.

The company has branches in Arkhangelsk, Veliky Novgorod, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Petrozavodsk, Pskov, Vyborg and other cities.

PeterStar takes 100% of shares of the Tver operator "Kansstel"

In July, 2010. Announced PeterStar completion of the transaction on acquisition of 100% of stocks of the Tver operator "Kansstel" at Synterra Center company, affiliated enterprise of Sinterra. Based on Kansstel it is decided to create the Tver branch of Peterstar. Joining of the regional operator is going to be completed by October 1, 2010.

In the Central region of PeterStar it is provided by the Yaroslavl branch which opened in May, 2010. Earlier here the subsidiary company of the operator – Inar, reorganized by way of accession to Peterstar worked.

"Purchase of Kansstel - one of stages of reduction of structure of business of Synterra group to corporate standards of the new shareholder - MegaFon according to which the Tver region is included into an area of responsibility of Northwest branch, - Evgeny Vasilyev, the CEO of Peterstar, the associate director of Northwest branch of MegaFon commented on the transaction. – Purchase of Kansstel means expansion of presence in Central Federal District for Peterstar that will allow to strengthen significantly positions of the operator in this market and to offer consumers of service of absolutely new level, including at the expense of the integrated offer from MegaFon and Sinterra.

2007: Entry into the structure of Sinterra

Since July, 2007 PeterStar is included into Synterra group.

In 2007 the company obtains the license for rendering services of the IP telephony in 8 regions of the Russian Federation. In December, 2007 PeterStar begins to provide services to WiFi in Murmansk. In May, 2007 PeterStar strengthens the positions in the market of the St. Petersburg telephony, having closed the transaction on purchase of the St. Petersburg operator "Lines 1".

2006

In 2006 PeterStar implements the comprehensive program on upgrade of network of subscriber access. On all sections sets of the new equipment of Raisecom producer were set. This equipment for networks of new generation which has ample opportunities of application among fiber-optical and radio-lines.

Same year PeterStar gets permission of Federal service on supervision in the field of communication (Federal Information Technologies Agency) for operation of a zone telephone exchange and provision of services of intra-zone telephone communication in St. Petersburg. In 2006 the PeterStar company implemented the large-scale project on providing summit G8 with communication.

Awards

PeterStar company the owner of an award of the State Committee on Communications of Russia in the field of quality.

At the end of 2004 PeterStar was included into number 20 of the best taxpayers of St. Petersburg within the non-commercial social project of the Government of Saint Petersburg.
