History

2024: Recovery of 120.7 million rubles from HP Inc. due to leaving Russia

In early February 2024, it became known that the Russian IT distributor Treolan, which is part of the Lanit group, won the lawsuit with HP Inc. We are talking about the proceedings related to the departure of the American company from the Russian market in the current geopolitical situation. The total amount of recovery from HP is 120.7 million rubles.

According to CNews, Treolan accused Aichpi Ink LLC (the Russian structure of NR) of non-fulfillment of obligations under paid technical support certificates. According to the case file, in August 2018, Treolan and HP entered into a partnership agreement for the distribution of products from an American manufacturer. In addition, HP provided technical support services for its hardware platforms - HP Care Pack.

IT distributor Treolan won a lawsuit with HP Inc.

It is noted that HP Care Pack is a set of service products that expand the terms of the standard warranty for HP equipment and software, and also allow you to choose the necessary level of technical support (from the response time to the next working day to the guaranteed time to restore the equipment to working for six hours) and its duration (the warranty can be extended for up to five years inclusive). The service package is linked to a specific piece of equipment and takes effect after registration. HP Care Pack service is provided by HP specialists or authorized service centers.

In connection with geopolitical changes, HP Corporation notified Treolan of a unilateral refusal to provide technical support for all paid orders from July 1, 2022. The court found that HP under the concluded contract did not provide services in full and, therefore, received unjust enrichment. The court decided to recover from HP funds in the amount of 108.6 million rubles plus interest in the amount of 12.1 million rubles for the period from July 1, 2022 to November 25, 2023. Thus, the total amount of recovery is 120.7 million rubles.[1]

2017: New CEO - Grigory Sverdlikov

In February 2017 , Lanit announced that a new general director, Grigory Sverdlikov, had been appointed to Treolan . He has been working at Lanit almost since the company was founded. Grigory Sverdlikov has been working at Lanit almost since the company was founded

Grigory Sverdlikov will manage Treolan with a created board of directors, which includes top managers of Treolan and top officials of the distribution company diHouse, including Philip Gens, chairman of the board of directors.

As CEO of Treolan, Sverdlikov replaced Dmitry Ivannikov, who headed the company since 2013. He moved to the position of vice president of Lanita.

Ivannikov's transfer to a new position in Lanit is associated with "successful development and prospects for further growth of the Irbis project, as well as in order to strengthen and systematize work with international partners."

File:Aquote1.png
Dmitry Ivannikov's merits in the development of the distribution business Treolan and the Irbis brand are unconditional. According to GFK, compared to 2015, the share of Irbis tablets in 2016 increased from 5% to 15%, which allowed the brand to become the leader in Russia. This project has become a challenge for us, because before we worked as a distributor only in the B2B market. The development of our own production of mobile equipment for us has also become a new experience. In conditions of fierce competition in this market, Dmitry managed to make the project successful, says Georgy Gens.

Ivannikov's duties as vice president will include the development of the Irbis trademark, the search and development of other startup projects with an international component, building systematic interaction with international partners within the Lanit group, including distribution and integration.

2013

Buying SafeLine

On May 27, 2013, Treolan, part of Lanit, announced the purchase of the distribution business of the Informzaschita group - SafeLine. The latter was separated into a separate division in 2007 and specializes in information security solutions and services .

The SafeLine partner network today has more than 1000 companies in Russia and the CIS countries, and its product line includes solutions from such vendors as Application Security, Bitdefender, FireMon, Fortinet, IBM ISS, Positive Technologies, SpectorSoft, Stonesoft, TITUS, Security Code, TKB Monitoring.

In Informzaschita, the reason for the sale of the distribution business is explained by the desire of the company's shareholders to focus on the development of the main areas of their business - the development of information protection tools and the provision of information security services. Services, in particular, in "Informzaschita" are called the main driver of growth of their revenue in 2012.

SafeLine became the first company to be acquired by Treolan. Treolan considers this transaction as a "profitable investment" and believes that SafeLine will contribute to the rapid promotion of products and solutions, entry into new markets, and as a result, sales growth.

Treolan told TAdviser that at the time of the acquisition, SafeLine employed 40 people. SafeLine CEO Oleg Bakshinsky accepted the offer to work at Treolan and will take one of the leading positions in the company.

"The
final version of the organizational structure in connection with the acquisition of SafeLine is now being completed. The purpose of the transaction is to get a synergistic effect from the takeover, so we expect that most of the SafeLine team will join Treolan or remain in the Informzaschita team, TAdviser said in Treolan.

Dmitry Ivannikov took the position of general director

In February 2013, Dmitry Ivannikov took over as CEO of Treolan. He was responsible for the strategic development of the company, its general management, and also participated in the development of the entire distribution business of Lanit Group of Companies. Among Treolan's strategic plans at that time were the expansion of the partner network, the implementation of the regional development program, and the expansion of the commodity supply.

2012: Pirit Business Integration

Treolan will focus on working with the SMB channel and partners working with corporate and government customers. diHouse will focus on working with a retail sales channel, primarily federal retail. In line with this strategy, initial plans to integrate PIRIT's distribution business into Treolan's business have changed.

  • Treolan integrates PIRIT business across all ASUS Open Platform Business Group lines (components, server, network, wireless equipment, all-in-ones, desktops and ASUS monitors), as well as business with component suppliers (Cooler Master, Leadtek, Zalman and others), previously owned by PIRIT, which will significantly expand the range of products and take a stronger position in working with local assemblers. To increase the level of support for partners in these product areas, Treolan has created a new product division.

  • Treolan also gets access to ASUS system business products (laptops, subnotebooks, tablets and smartphones) and HP Pavilion products (laptops and netbooks). This is a logical addition to the corporate product lines of these vendors in the Treolan portfolio, which reflects the modern trend of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), when corporate users can use personal laptops purchased on their own at work. Partners will now be able to offer their customers products for "dual" use.

  • The business of diHouse integrates the retail direction of PIRIT and the related business for ASUS System Business Group products (laptops, subnotebooks, tablets and smartphones), in the direction of HP Pavilion (laptops, netbooks), as well as in the direction of "Gadgets and accessories."

As a result of these transformations, the entire PIRIT product portfolio is now available to Treolan partners. Employees of the PIRIT distribution division will continue to work in accordance with their specialization in Treolan and diHouse. PIRIT partners representing the corporate and SMB market segments have the opportunity to continue working with Treolan, and PIRIT retail partners with diHouse.
