On April 20, 2021, TopDelivery presented its operating and financial results for 2020 and shared its development plans for 2021. During the COVID-19 pandemic, TopDelivery increased revenue by 50% compared to 2019.
In 2020, TopDelivery shifted its priority from work through points of issue of orders for the development of courier deliveries. As a result, it was possible to increase their number by 120% compared to 2019. The total volume of deliveries increased by 35% in 2020. The growth occurred evenly throughout the year without fluctuations in the ratio of deliveries in Moscow and the regions.
TopDelivery company for April 2021 provides courier services in 77 regions of Russia. The five regions in terms of delivery volumes included the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Crimea, Rostov, Sverdlovsk and Novosibirsk regions. As of April 2021, work is underway to expand the regional presence and reduce delivery times.
In 2020, TopDelivery paid special attention to optimizing technical processes. In particular, a tracking service was launched, which allowed to reduce the number of calls to the call center by 20%. With the introduction of tracking, recipients were able to independently set a delivery date and change the address without additional contact with customer support. Also for senders, the service has become more convenient thanks to the display on the site of the expected delivery date. The solution made it possible to reduce the number of calls by 2 times with the clarification of the order status.
In 2020, TopDelivery updated the order routing system in Moscow with the planned arrival time for each address. This allowed to increase the percentage of hit in the delivery time interval by 8%. According to the company, delivery in Moscow was most often issued in the following areas: Ramenki - University, Academic - Cheryomushki, Savelovsky, Basmanny - Lefortovo, Zamoskvorechye.
During the pandemic, TopDelivery was able to increase the number of courier deliveries, maintaining the high performance of a single service. This was largely achieved thanks to the launch of a training center for couriers and a training program for new employees. It was important for the company to reduce the adaptation period for newcomers and increase the number of traffic. Also in 2020, the company was able to maintain a decent salary of couriers.
TopDelivery meets all the requirements of the legislation in the field of transportation. In 2020, the company fully prepared the IT system for working with labeled goods. Mandatory labeling of goods is being introduced in stages from 2019, in 2021 the range of goods subject to mandatory entry into the Honest Sign system will be expanded.
According to TopDelivery, during the pandemic, the logistics business has changed the way orders are paid. If before the pandemic, orders were most often paid upon receipt, then in 2020 the number of prepaid orders increased by 22%. In addition, recipients of goods began to pay for purchases more often by card, this made it possible to reduce the costs and risks of a logistics operator to work through accepting cash.

In 2020, TopDelivery doubled the warehouse area to 1.5 thousand square meters by joining the areas vacated during the pandemic. Earlier, during the peak load period, additional warehouses had to be removed in other areas of the city. The expansion of the existing warehouse made it possible to reduce the cost of rent, personnel and inter-warehouse logistics by almost 2 times.
