Bairro is a Portuguese express delivery service for food and everyday goods, launched in the spring of 2021 by an entrepreneur of Ukrainian origin Artem Kohan. The businessman invested his own 100 thousand euros in the creation of the project, which went to develop a mobile application and open the first darkstore in the center of Lisbon.

2022

Attraction of 300 thousand euros

In early April 2022, it became known about investing 300 thousand euros in Bairro. Founded by the Russian Portuguese express product delivery service attracted funds from Raison Asset Management as part of a bridge round of financing, the transaction was carried out in SAFE format.

According to Andrei Berezin, managing partner of Raison Asset Management, this is the second food startup in the fund's portfolio. Earlier, Raison Asset Management also invested in a GetFaster that operates in Germany.

In early April 2022, it became known about investing 300 thousand euros in Bairro

By the beginning of April 2022, Bairro employs about 140 employees who process about 5 thousand orders per week. By the end of the year, the service expects to increase coverage within Portugal to 45 darkstores and enter the Moroccan market. The total volume of investments attracted by the startup reached 3.7 million euros. According to Raison Asset Management forecasts, the startup's estimate for the next round will be at least €25 million.

Founders of Bairro - the CEO Artem Kokhan, the operating officer Maxim Gatsuts (ex-CEO of Karusel network), the technical director Mikhail Leonov (the former technical director of Delivery Club, the former head of development of Lamoda), the marketing director Artem Afanasyev (former director of development of Uber Eats Ukraine), the investor and the chief adviser Leonid Dovladbegyan ( the managing director of online hypermarket "Vprok.ru the Intersection"). Working in Portugal, Bairro competes with services such as Uber Eats, Bolt Food and Glovo, as well as supermarket chains Auchan and Continuente.

Attraction 2.3 million euros

February 1, 2022 it became known about the investment of 2.3 million euros in Bairro. TMT Investments, Vershina Capital, Startup Lab, Insta Ventures and the European fund Flyer One Ventures took part in the round of financing of the Portuguese food delivery service. The transaction was closed in early 2022, specified in TMT Investments.

According to Bairro's own data, by the beginning of February 2022, a service operating in the territory of the capital of Portugal processes and delivers more than 2,000 orders monthly.

According to investors themselves, fast delivery in 15-30 minutes is practically absent in Portugal, despite the extremely high population density in large cities. Entrepreneurs hope that in a short time they will be able to pick up this market. In their plans - in a year to cover most of greater Lisbon and greater Porto, in which almost 50% of the population lives, and then start work throughout the country. Bairro also managed to become a partner in the cashback program of the local football club Benfica.

2021: Attraction 1.2 million euros

In August 2021, it became known that a group of Russian business angels invested 1.2 million euros in Bairro. The round was led by private investor Dmitry Shklyar with the participation of Leonid Dovladbegyan, managing director of the Vprok ru Perekrestok online hypermarket, former head of Russian representative offices JD.com and Cainiao Alex Vasiliev, former head of Delivery Club and Pandao Andrei Tsitsenko.[1]
