2021: Microsoft bought Clear Software
On October 22, 2021, Microsoft announced the acquisition of Clear Software, a developer of tools to speed up complex business tasks that involve many applications. The buyer intends to use the absorbed company's developments to improve Power Apps and Power Automate.
The deal is aimed at expanding the capabilities of the Microsoft Power Platform product package. The two most important solutions in this product set are the Power Apps and Power Automate cloud services. Both services are designed to help companies automate repetitive operations, such as copying sales records between databases (databases), but these proposals are focused on different use cases.
Power Apps allows business users to create custom applications to optimize recurring aspects of everyday work. Power Automate, in turn, is more focused on creating automation workflows than applications. software ON There are several key differences between these two categories (). The workflow does not necessarily have a user interface like applications and is often focused on a narrower set of tasks or in general, only one action. As a result, workflows are most often used to automate back-office processes. Although the use cases they target are often different, applications and workflows have the same basic function - business data processing. As a result, they both need the ability to integrate with systems that store business data from different companies. It is this task that Microsoft seeks to facilitate its customers by acquiring Clear Software.
Clear Software integrations will make it more convenient to use Power Apps and Power Automate to create business applications and automate on the basis of such complex systems as SAP and Oracle, "wrote Stephen Siciliano, general manager for working with Power Automate partners. |
Clear Software offers two software products that simplify business tasks related to information stored in several systems. The first product, ClearProcess, allows automation applications and workflows to work more easily with data in accounting systems, such as the enterprise or company resource planning platform. Another Clear Software offering is called ClearWork and allows employees to access multiple applications and their data through a single centralized web page.[1]
