2020: ConsenSys separated medical business
At the end of February, 2020 within restructuring a blockchain company ConsenSys announced that it separates medical business. The ConsenSys Health direction becomes the independent company. Other changes include dismissal of 14% of employees and promotion of division of ConsenSys Investments.
The founder of ConsenSys and one of founders of Ethereum Joe Lubin explained the reasons of selection of medical business in separate company:
Technologies of the industry of health care require fundamental safety and efficiency which is ensured by a blockchain and also the unique principles of confidentiality and ethics which deserve special attention. Selection of separate company in this area are an opportunity to integrate the powerful technologies created by ConsenSys with a team of leaders for the solution of the most serious problems in the field of health care, we meet many of which daily. |
The new company will be headed by the former conductress of division of Heather Leigh Flannery. Earlier she worked in Microsoft, and then spent nearly nine years as the CEO of department on prevention and treatment of obesity. It is also a cofounder and the chairman a blockchain division in Healthcare Global which is included into body of standardization of IEEE.
World leaders recognize need of changes in a health care system as it does not provide availability and inclusivity which our patients so need, - Flanneri told. - Convergence of a set of innovations, such as blockchain and machine learning, allows us to look at old problems in a new way. |
As notes the Ledger Insight edition in spite of the fact that ConsenSys Health, certainly, holds big authority on community of health care, any large corporate projects it was not announced yet.[1]
