In Kyiv, a business center with the company's office suffered from shelling
As a result of Russia's missile strike on Ukraine on October 10, 2022, buildings containing local offices of Microsoft and Samsung were damaged.
According to the publication AIN.UA, the business center in which the office of Microsoft Ukraine is located is damaged. According to the portal's sources, there were no company employees in the office at the time of the shelling - Microsoft took most of them out of Kyiv.
Microsoft has been operating in Ukraine since 2003. The tasks of the local division include the development of the software market and the promotion of Microsoft products, the support of partners and customers, as well as the localization of the latest technologies of the corporation and the implementation of social projects in Ukraine.
Under the actions of the Ukrainian air defense on October 10, 2022, the 101 Tower business center, where the office and R&D division of Samsung Ukraine are located, suffered. Windows were blown out in the building. In what state the company's office is unknown. But the situation is not as critical as with the Microsoft office, the publication reports.
A resident of Kyiv posted on Twitter striking elements of an outdated warhead 9N314 from an anti-aircraft guided missile 9M38 for the Buk 9K37 air defense system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, found near the office of Samsung Corporation in Kyiv, next to which a rocket exploded on October 10. The striking elements in the warhead 9N314 just have a characteristic parallepiped shape and a similar size.
Thus, it is safe to say that near the building of the Kyiv office of Samsung, due to an operator's mistake or failure, it was the Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile from the Buk air defense system that hit.
From the moment of its foundation in 2009 to October 2022, Samsung Ukraine invested 365 million in the Kyiv development center. According to various sources, from 500 to 650 people work for the company in Ukraine. The division focuses on developments in computer vision, graphics and cybersecurity. During its operation, the Ukrainian center Samsung has filed 232 patent applications and invested $1 million in cooperation programs with universities.
As stated in the Russian Ministry of Defense on October 10 and 11, 2022, the goal of a missile strike on the facilities of the military administration and power of Ukraine has been achieved. It is noted that the massive strike was carried out by high-precision long-range air and sea-based weapons.[1]
Russian Foreign Ministry: Microsoft, commissioned by the Pentagon, deprived Ukraine of digital sovereignty
Microsoft works by order of the special services and the Pentagon, their joint activities deprived Ukraine of information sovereignty and control over digital infrastructure. Oleg Syromolotov, deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), said this on July 18, 2022 (his comment is given on the agency's website).
Hiding behind promises to help strengthen security, the Microsoft Threat Analysis Center convinced Ukrainian authorities to provide remote access to their networks. In particular, through the use of the "controlled folder access" property in the Microsoft Defender cyber threat protection application. With the help of RiskIQ services, under the pretext of assessing the level of security of information resources of state bodies of Ukraine, devices with unpatched known vulnerabilities that can now be used by Americans have been identified, Syromolotov said. |
Thus, the Ukrainian authorities gave the American company access to all communication devices in the country, provided it with tools for surveillance and provocations, summed up the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation. He added that the "IT Army of Ukraine," which continues to declare server hacks in Russia, is the result of Microsoft's activities.
In general, the company significantly discredited itself with an attempt to play along with the conjuncture, to curry favor with the American authorities. Many countries in the world that use Microsoft's services should think about what it really is/At any time, this tool of Washington's aggressive policy can be used to attempt the sovereignty of objectionable states and such subversive actions will be justified by another propaganda "opus, - Oleg Syromolotov emphasized.[2] |
