2022: Launch of ambulance production in Nizhny Novgorod

Schwabe launched the production of ambulances in Nizhny Novgorod. This was announced on February 10, 2022 by the press service of Rostec, which includes the holding.

The production of vehicles began at the Schwabe Special Car site. There will be produced medical services, ambulances of class A, B and C, vehicles based on cars and minibuses for the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - patrol, post and canine services, as well as cars equipped with special equipment for people with disabilities.

The chassis will be assembled on the basis of the Lada, Gazelle and Sobol models from Russian components. Cardiac, intensive care and neonatal medical equipment will be installed in ambulances. Cars are planned to be delivered to Russian regions and sold to the CIS countries.

Transportation will be affordable and reliable in operation. The design of the machines takes into account Russian realities, such as extreme temperatures and off-road, "said Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec.

Schwabe Special Car is a joint venture of the Schwabe holding and the Industrial Technologies plant (Promtech, Nizhny Novgorod, produces special vehicles), created in July 2021. The volume of investments in the project was estimated at 500 million rubles. The full cycle enterprise (metalworking, turning and milling works, manufacturing of body parts from composite materials, body welding, etc.) has 15 workshops with a total area of ​ ​ 15 thousand square meters. m Separate areas are allocated for the creation of related equipment for medical and special purpose vehicles.

According to Schwab, the level of localization of production at the Schwabe Special Car site is planned to be increased to 90%.
