2024: Submission from prosecutors for late departures and poor helicopter equipment

Prosecutors punished the Air Ambulance Service and Disaster Medicine Center for late departures and poor helicopter equipment. The press service of the Ural Transport Prosecutor's Office announced this on February 21, 2024.

It follows from this message that the audit revealed violations related to improper equipping of aircraft with the necessary medical equipment when providing emergency specialized medical care to citizens within the framework of the concluded state contract, untimely departures in emergency situations, failure to instruct medical personnel before departures, as well as improper equipment and maintenance of landing sites for aircraft.

Prosecutors punish Air Ambulance Service and Disaster Medicine Center for late departures and poor helicopter equipment

In order to eliminate violations by the transport prosecutor, the Director General of JSC "National Sanitary Aviation Service" and the Chief Doctor of the GAUZ SO "Territorial Center for Disaster Medicine" made submissions that were considered and satisfied, the perpetrators were brought to disciplinary responsibility.

As noted in the Ural Transport Prosecutor's Office, by February 21, 2024, landing sites are given in accordance with the requirements of the law, aircraft are equipped with the necessary medical equipment, control over the time of departure of aircraft at the request is established.

Earlier, Viktor Kiryanov, Managing Director for Infrastructure Projects at Rostec State Corporation, said that by 2024 a single system of sanitary aviation evacuation in the Russian Federation should be created, which will link together ambulance dispatchers and sanitary aircraft and helicopters. As explained in the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, regional segments, central dispatching rooms, as well as ambulance and ambulance dispatchers will subsequently be integrated, which will allow, when a patient applies to the emergency service, to make the optimal decision about the medical institution to which he will be delivered and the method of delivery.[1]

2023: Helicopter crash in Volgograd region

On April 24, 2023, an ambulance helicopter crashed in the Volgograd Region. As a result of the tragedy, the pilot died; there were no passengers on board the car. Read more here.
