Zhukovsky International Airport was prepared in 2015 by Ramport Aero OJSC to serve classic and low-budget passenger, cargo and charter airlines. The area of ​ ​ the airport is 17,600 square meters, the throughput is 2 million passengers per year.

Zhukovsky International Airport (ZIA) is located in the southeast of the Moscow Region, 23 km from the Russian capital. Travel time from the Kazan railway station Moscow to the airport is 1 hour 15 minutes, from the Kotelniki metro station: from 20 to 50 minutes.

2023: Losses - 615.2 million rubles

The operator of the Zhukovsky airport, Ramport Aero, returned to a loss in 2023 (net loss amounted to 615.2 million rubles) after the first profitable year (in 2022, net profit was measured at 160.8 million rubles). The company's revenue during this time rose by 9%, to 1.5 billion rubles. Such data in accordance with Russian accounting standards (RAS) were released at the end of March 2024.

According to Interfax, citing materials from Ramport Aero JSC, in 2023 the company's long-term obligations reached 4.6 billion rubles, an increase of 12% on an annualized basis. Borrowed funds increased by 30% (they increased to 2.9 billion rubles), short-term liabilities decreased by 27%, to 352 million rubles, and related borrowed funds - by 91%, to 13 million rubles.

At the end of 2023, the cost of sales of Ramport Aero JSC increased by 36% compared to 2022 to 1.1 billion rubles. Gross profit amounted to almost 373 million rubles, which is 32% less than in 2022.

The news agency notes that other expenses had a significant impact on the financial result of the company, which amounted to more than 1 billion rubles (an increase of almost four times compared to 2022), of which 635 million rubles were exchange rate differences.

Passenger traffic at Zhukovsky Airport in 2023 amounted to 1.45 million people, which is 4% more than a year earlier. Most of this indicator fell on flights of Ural Airlines and Red Wings.

The greatest demand among Zhukovsky passengers in 2023 was for flights to Istanbul (they were operated by Red Wings, Ural Airlines, Turkish Corendon Airlines) and Tel Aviv (Red Wings). The busiest domestic route was Sochi, the leader among long-haul destinations - Hambantota (Sri Lanka).^[1]

Construction plans

In 2016, the construction of a new cargo terminal with an area of ​ ​ 14,000 square meters will begin. The project of modernization of the Ramensky air hub should be completed by 2020. The first stage has already been completed: it included the construction of terminal No. 1 with an estimated area of ​ ​ 17 thousand square meters. m with a capacity of up to 2 million people per year, short and long-term parking lots for 200 and 300 seats, respectively. Reconstruction and expansion (up to four lanes) of the highway was carried out. The reconstruction of the Rest railway platform for the adoption of the Sputnik high-speed train is also being completed.

The second stage should be completed by the end of 2017. The implementation of the second stage will require investments in the amount of 7.6 billion rubles. With these funds, an international passenger terminal No. 2 with an area of ​ ​ 30 thousand square meters with a capacity of up to 6 million people per year will be built, a cargo terminal with a total area of ​ ​ 14 thousand square meters will be built. In addition, short-term and long-term car parks with 512 and 3,240 seats will be built, respectively.

The third stage (to be completed by the end of 2020) includes the construction of a third terminal, after which the total area of ​ ​ the terminals will be 60,000 square meters, the capacity is 12 million passengers per year. The construction of a hotel, shopping and office center will also be completed.

Zhukovsky Airport received the first regular passenger flight

Zhukovsky International Airport received the first passenger flight in September 2016. The first carrier to start flying through Zhukovsky International Airport was Belavia Airlines. The Minsk-Moscow flight will land at Zhukovsky airport at 9:55 Moscow time. The Belarusian carrier operates regular flights to the following Russian airports: Moscow Domodedovo Airport, Pulkovo International Airport (St. Petersburg), Krasnodar International Airport, Sochi International Airport, Khrabrovo International Airport (Kaliningrad).
