On June 3, 2022, it became known about the production of electric trucks at the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ). We are talking about the MAZ-4381EE model.

According to Deputy General Director of MAZ OJSC and Technical Director Alexander Kravchenko, at the first stage about 10 electric trucks will be delivered to the Belarusian market. It is assumed that the first buyers of the novelty will be delivery organizations and hypermarkets.

Production of domestic electric trucks launches in Belarus

The MAZ-4381YeYe model is designed to transport goods up to 4.5 tons at a distance of up to 200 kilometers without additional charging. Total weight - 12.5 tons. Central and side panels of cabin, lining covers, doors and bumper are made of composite materials.

The total battery capacity is 300 a·ch (195 kW * h), the average electricity consumption is 0.98 kVt·ch/km, the power reserve on a full charge is 200 km. Motor - electric, asynchronous rated/peak power 130/170 kW. The motor is produced by the Mogilevliftmash plant.

There are two types of charging, slow and fast. In the first case, the time of full charging is 12 hours, in the second (with a charge current of 300 A) it is reduced to three hours. The maximum speed of the electric truck is declared at 85 km/h.

Deputy General Director of MAZ OJSC - management company of Belavtomaz holding, procurement director Yevgeny Zakharov, in a conversation with TASS, noted the high potential of electric trucks.

The whole world has proved that the life cycle cost of such a truck is much higher than diesel. Plus - in many cities there are certain requirements for exhausts, entrances to the city center. Therefore, such a technique is very promising, and it will find its niche, - said Zakharov.
